Gifts Of Hope Unlimited (GOHU) was established in 2012 and incorporated as a 501(c)3 Non-Profit in 2016. Registered in Sudbury, Massachusetts GOHU operates its Product assistance program out of a warehouse located on 531 Main Street, Massachusetts. in access to resources for a safe and empowered future. Business model: Gifts Of Hope Unlimited, was established in October of 2012. The idea - to assist individuals and families affected by relationship violence, establish new homes and live in a safe, self reliant environment free of abuse. GOHU works in conjunction with Town social workers and 3 Domestic Violence service provider agencies - Voices Against Violence of Framingham, The Second Step of Newton and RIA House of Framingham, all of whom operate emergency shelters or transitional housing and help individuals in need of help and are struggling with meeting their most basic needs. All services rendered are confidential. Most of our members are trained and experienced volunteer advocates familiar with the struggles of individuals affected by domestic violence. It should not be surprising that our volunteers discovered that most individuals stay in an abusive relationship due to financial dependence. GOHU raises funds through grants, Individual and corporate donations, special fund raising events and community and faith based organizations such as Garden clubs, The League Of Women Voters etc. Often times these individuals make the hard choice to live with their abusive partner due to lack of financial resources. At a macro level GOHU raises awareness of the pervasive nature of domestic abuse within all communities. Most important strengths and core competencies: Our strength is our volunteers, a committed core group of experienced people who are either trained Domestic Violence Services advocates or individuals who care deeply about the cause. Significant challenges the company faces now and in the near future: Developing a strong network of contributors to maintain the inventory of quality household goods, Developing the criteria for providing funds for aid, and creating a meaningful partnership with the community and other organizations. Long term: Our goal is to make our business self-sustaining and establishing a reliable funding source for assistance grants.
