Don't forget to vote YES for the schools tomorrow night at Town Meeting! It's not passed until this final step.

The school budget should be first on the docket so it shouldn't be a long night.

This has been quite a journey, but I've really enjoyed reconnecting with old friends and meeting so many amazing and inspiring new people. If you ever feel uncertain about this country, run for local office. There are so many people who are invested and making a difference in our community. Thank you so much for your support!

I am so proud to be have received an endorsement from Mary Warzynski.

Hello Sudbury Friends and Neighbors,

It is with great enthusiasm that I write to all of you to endorse our fellow community member Lissa Iwasaki as a Trustee for the Goodnow Library Foundation. I have known Lissa for years, first as a Peter Noyes mom where she was ever-present as a parent volunteer, then as a school library volunteer for my kids, and then as their library teacher. Based on her commitment to community service and to fostering a love of books for every child, it’s no surprise to me that Lissa has developed library studies into a successful career. My second vote will be going to Ingrid Mayyasi.

Our community is incredibly fortunate that Lissa has chosen to dedicate the passion, education, and vision she has developed over the past 10 years to making The Goodnow Library even better. As she has stated on many occasions, the public library is one of our last free community spaces. Our library deserves someone who has the experience and education to support our many diverse programs while simultaneously expanding them not just within our own Sudbury community, but beyond to our surrounding communities. Lissa has made it clear that this is a priority of hers.

As a 20-year resident of Sudbury I care deeply about our community. Like so many others, I have incredibly fond memories of the Children’s Room at The Goodnow Library being one of the first comfortable and easy spaces where I could bring my children for hours, for free, to enjoy the many books, puzzles, DVD’s, museum passes, beautiful fish tank , and the company and companionship of friends. Over the years the library has evolved into so much more, including a safe space for my older teens to study as well as an ever-expanding resource for electronic materials for those with time or mobility constraints. Sudbury deserves Goodnow Library Trustees who have the vision, passion, experience, and creativity to continue along the path of maintaining our town library as the local treasure that it is for all…. Or making it even better. Lissa Iwasaki is just the person to make this happen.

Please join me in voting for Lissa Iwasaki on March 27, 2023. The polls are open from 7AM to 8PM!

Warmly,
Mary Warzynski

Ps. As I note above, my second vote on March 27th will be going to Ingrid Mayyasi. Ingrid also has the knowledge, depth of experience and dedication to move the programs at the Goodnow Library forward in a manor in which our community can be proud. If you haven’t watched it, I encourage you to view Lissa and Ingrid’s very thoughtful answers on the Sudbury League of Women Voter’s candidates’ forum. The link is below:
