🚨⚠️ Morris County Alert – Severe Thunderstorm and Tornado Warning ⚠️🚨
The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm and Tornado Warning for portions of Morris County until 2:45 PM.

⛈️ What to Expect:
• Torrential downpours capable of causing poor drainage and localized flooding
• Strong, gusty winds
• The storm is showing rotation and may be capable of producing a tornado
🌪️ Greatest area of concern:
Along and just north of Route 46, from just outside Hackettstown toward Netcong.
⏰ Immediate threat through approximately 2:25 PM.
Please take this storm seriously:
• Move indoors immediately if you are outside.
• Stay away from windows.
• Never drive through flooded roadways — Turn Around, Don’t Drown.
• Continue to monitor trusted weather sources for updates and be prepared to take shelter if a Tornado Warning is issued.
Our Office of Emergency Management is actively monitoring conditions and will provide updates as needed. Stay safe, Morris County.

🚨 Public Safety Notice 🚨

Smoke from the ongoing Canadian wildfires has once again moved into our area. Residents may notice hazy skies and a strong odor of smoke at times over the coming days.

If you see smoke or smell smoke and are unsure whether it is related to the wildfires or a local fire, do not hesitate to call 911. It is always better to report a potential emergency so it can be investigated than to assume it is wildfire smoke.

The Roxbury Fire Department will continue to monitor conditions and respond to all reports of potential fires to help keep our community safe.

This past Tuesday evening, we had the pleasure of welcoming Pack 159 of Roxbury to the firehouse as they worked toward earning their Safe and Smart badge!

Our firefighters and EMT’s had a great time teaching the Scouts about fire safety, emergency preparedness, and what to do in an emergency. The Scouts—and even a few parents—learned something new while getting an up-close look at our fire engine, ambulance, and all of the specialized equipment we use to serve our community.

Thank you to Pack 159 for spending the evening with us. We hope everyone had as much fun as we did, and we can’t wait to see you again soon!

Last evening, Tower 15 and Engine 13 responded as mutual aid to Mount Arlington for a second-alarm residential structure fire.

Upon arrival, our crews worked alongside numerous mutual aid companies to assist with fire suppression operations and bring the incident under control.

We are proud to support our neighboring communities and value the strong partnerships that make these responses successful. Thank you to all responding agencies for their professionalism and teamwork.
