Sturtevant Youth Baseball Association

Sturtevant Youth Baseball Association Sturtevant Youth Baseball Association is a baseball and fast-pitch softball organization in Racine C

Our T-Ball Program is designed for boys and girls ages 4-6 who are just beginning to learn the skills of baseball/softball. Games are designed to be fun for all and are only 1 hour long. Our Coach-Pitch Program is a coed league for 6-8 year olds who are ready to hit from a pitcher. The program further develops their baseball/softball skills in the areas of fielding, batting, base-running, and sportsmanship. Games are more competitive than T-Ball, but are still designed to be fun for all. The Girls Fast-Pitch Softball Program offers players a competitive opportunity to develop and enhance their playing skills against other community leagues in Racine County. Three different leagues are offered based on age (up to age 15) and skill level of the players. The Boys Baseball Program offers players an opportunity to compete against other teams and perfect their skills to prepare for high school sports. As with the softball program, there are four different leagues available, depending on the player’s age (up to age 18) and skills.

Tonight's games are canceled. Despite the volunteer field crew's work yesterday and today pumping water and raking the infields, the fields are still too soft to be playable, even in spots without puddles.

The crew will keep at it, and we're hopeful conditions improve before our next scheduled games.

We'll share an update as soon as we know more. Thank you for your patience, and thank you to the volunteers putting in the time to get us back on the field!

Due to the heavy rain over the past few days, all games scheduled for tonight are canceled.

Our field crew is still hard at work, and we hope to have better news for tomorrow's games!

Well, we had a good stretch while it lasted. Unfortunately, we will need to reschedule the games for this evening due to the field conditions. Commissioners will be in contact with coaches.

Thank you Mother Nature for the sun ! All games are on for tonight! 9-23-26

9.22.26 Games:
Fields are playable at Fireman's Park. Games at Fireman's are a GO!

Roma/South Park is still too saturated, so the game between Yellow and Orange will be rescheduled. We did try to secure another field and have not been able to get one set up.

Things are looking promising for all fields being good for tomorrow, but as always, we will keep you updated.

Hello SYBA Families,
While Mother Nature finally gave us a break in the rain, the fields need some time to dry. With the wind and hopefully some sun coming, we will evaluate tomorrow and hope to get back into action Tuesday.

For this evening, if you have a practice planned, please stay off the fields. You may practice in the grass, however, be aware, the grass is saturated as well. Please exercise caution, but do not practice on the infields. Here's to hoping for a better week than last!

Hello SYBA Families,

With the pending rain on the way and the already wet fields, we are going to cancel games for tonight AND tomorrow morning as the weather outlook just isn't in our favor. Enjoy your weekend...stay dry!

Hello SYBA Families,

It appears Fall Ball is not in the cards for this week. Fields are not playable today and with the grim forecast the remainder of the week, it is not looking good. With that said, we understand you are frustrated.....as are we. The board discussed and we will be extending the season to the week of October 12th to allow for makeup games. The goal is for the teams to play six games as planned. Last season, we only had five scheduled games and the total was increased this year with the way the weeks fell.

Please understand, we are not here to "take your money" as one email received stated. We are an unpaid volunteer board who have jobs, kids in other sports, and families of our own. We do not want the season to extend as that affects us as well, but the goal is and will be six games. If weeks like this continue, we as a board, will discuss a plan and if necessary, we have no problem issuing refunds. There are still four weeks to get games in, and commissioners will work with coaches to get them rescheduled.

As a reminder, unless it is obvious, we will not make the call on cancelling games until 4pm.

Games for 9.16.26 -
Despite the fields crew working for hours, without sun and wind, the fields are nowhere near dried out. Fields are not playable for tonight. We will monitor the rain and make a determination for tomorrow by 4pm.
