National Public Works Week | May 17-23

This week, we recognize and thank the Village of Sturtevant Department of Public Works team for the essential work they perform every day to keep our community operating safely and efficiently.

From maintaining roads and rights-of-way to managing storm and sanitary sewer infrastructure, snow and ice control, parks, fleet maintenance, emergency response, and public facilities — these employees work behind the scenes in every season to serve our residents and businesses.

Their dedication, professionalism, and commitment to public service help keep Sturtevant moving.

Thank you to our DPW staff for everything you do for the Village of Sturtevant and our community.

Shaping up to be a great weekend for yard work.
As a reminder, please keep leaves separate from other yard waste:
Leaves can be placed loose in the curb gutter
Branches and other yard waste should be placed in manageable piles on the parkway
Depending on workload, it may take crews several days to reach your residence.
Thank you for your cooperation in helping keep Sturtevant clean and efficient.

This is the last spring collection.
Yard Waste Site is open Saturdays 8am-Noon (closed 5/23/26)
Wednesday hours begin June 3rd 2pm-6pm

-This is a modification to an existing permit that was already granted
-The modification is to address safety: increase the size of fire pumps and install three additional fire pumps
-Modifies fuel use and emission limits still within allowable limits

🚔 New Sheriff’s Squad Vehicles Serving Sturtevant 🚔

The Village of Sturtevant is proud to welcome the Racine County Sheriff’s Office as they begin service to our community.

You’ll start to see two dedicated squad vehicles like this one, clearly marked for the Village of Sturtevant, actively patrolling our neighborhoods.

This is about continuity, visibility, and service. Residents can expect the same commitment to public safety, with strong coverage and professional response from the Sheriff’s Office.
