In many cases, links are provided from these sites to pages on our official website Sturgis-sd.gov that may contain further details. We encourage viewers to submit questions, comments, and concerns, but please note that all City social media sites are moderated and these sites are not considered a public forum. The City of Sturgis reserves the right to block and or delete comments that are deemed inappropriate. The following are some examples of inappropriate comments. 🚨 CALENDAR ANNOUNCEMENT 🚨

If you attended the Community Appreciation Picnic, you probably heard our announcement about a new official community events calendar! Check it out at www.AllSturgisEvents.com and save it to your bookmarks! 📅

📍 Who is sponsoring the calendar?

The City of Sturgis, Downtown Sturgis Foundation, and Sturgis Chamber have collaborated to launch this calendar site specifically for sharing events going on around town to our residents and visitors in one convenient location.

📍 What kind of events can be submitted?

Any public event located within 5 miles of Sturgis may be submitted for review and approval. This includes festivals, fundraisers, races, sporting events, concerts, open houses, etc.

Our chamber team oversees reviewing and approving these submissions as often as possible for inclusion (your event won't show up until we approve it within a business day or two).

📍 Who can submit events?

Any business, club, or group offering a public event located within 5 miles of Sturgis may submit these events using the form on the calendar site.

📍 How is this different from previous community calendars?

This calendar allows you to submit your own public events using a submission form. This gives you complete control over your own event listing - you can add images, links, description, and other details yourself rather than relying on the calendar owner to get it right.
Plus, this calendar is not limited to any specific business members or districts, aside from the events being located within 5 miles of Sturgis. It’s also free!

Additionally, the calendar is viewer-friendly. Viewers can sort by category, timeframe, or even view upcoming events on a map instead of in list format.

Lastly, each of the sponsors will be marketing the calendar through various avenues (social, media releases, e-mail, newsletters, etc). We aim to have strong reach with this new platform to benefit the whole community!

In addition to the Community Appreciation Picnic in downtown Sturgis Wednesday, Aug. 21, the city will also be hosting Kool Deadwood Nites registered car owners that day. The city will close Main Street from 1st to 3rd streets beginning at about 5 a.m. Wednesday so that the car owners can park their vehicles on the street. All cars should be removed from those areas of Main Street before that hour or face towing. Harley-Davidson Way will be closed from the alley between Main and Sherman Street to Lazelle Street on the north. The map shows the areas that will be closed.
