We are thrilled to announce the recipients of the 34th Annual William and Helen Doyle/Exchange Club Community Service Awards, presented in partnership with the Exchange Club of Sturgis MI!

Through the William & Helen Doyle Fund at the Foundation, these awards honor charitable and educational programs that benefit the Sturgis community. Established in 1991 by William and Helen Doyle, the Fund has awarded more than $145,000 in grants to over 100 local projects and programs.

This year, we're proud to share that $5,500 has been awarded to three outstanding recipients:
🎉Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Southwest Michigan
🎉Sturgis High School - Michigan
🎉Sturges-Young Center for the Arts

We're excited to be part of the fun at this year's Three Rivers Water Festival! 💧✨

Stop by the Community Foundation's tent in the Kid Zone on Saturday from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm for a free caricature drawing by Caricatures by Mark Daniels! We'll also be there to talk about how the Community Foundation is helping create opportunities and strengthen communities throughout St. Joseph County! We can't wait to see you there!

The Community Foundation recognizes the significant challenges facing Sturgis and surrounding communities following last week's severe storm.

As organizations across our community work to support those affected, we want to remind local nonprofits, food pantries, faith-based organizations, and community groups that the Foundation's Food Assistance Grant Program remains open and available.

If your organization needs funding to provide food assistance during this time of increased need, we encourage you to apply. To learn more and access the application, click here: https://sturgisfoundation.org/grants/

Our team is committed to responding quickly to requests so resources can reach the community as efficiently as possible. Organizations that have previously received funding through this program are also encouraged to apply again, given the circumstances and growing need we are seeing throughout the Sturgis area.

Big things are happening at 104–106 N. Nottawa in downtown Sturgis!

The Sturgis Area Community Foundation is restoring this historic building into vibrant community space that will serve as the future home of SACF’s offices while also creating a shared gathering place for nonprofits, businesses, and community leaders across St. Joseph County.

This project is the first major investment of the newly established SIA Community Impact Fund, a charitable fund created through a partnership between SACF and the Sturgis Improvement Association to drive economic development through strategic impact investments throughout the county.

The renovation will also open new accessible connections to the neighboring Open Door Gallery, unlocking space for expanded arts programming, exhibits, and education.

We’re excited to continue sharing updates as this vision comes to life!

This Memorial Day, the Sturgis Area Community Foundation joins communities across the country in honoring those who gave their lives in service. We are grateful for their sacrifice and hold their memory close to our hearts.

Today, the Constantine community came together to celebrate someone who has made a lasting impact on so many lives, Kathy Messner. 🌸🩷

Through collaboration and community spirit, a prairie rose crabapple tree has been planted in Kathy’s honor as a symbol of the kindness, dedication, and care she has shared with Constantine over the years.

Kathy, thank you for everything you have done for the Community Foundation and for the entire Constantine community. Your compassion and impact have touched countless people, and we are grateful for the opportunity to celebrate and honor you today.
