Cadet to Community Service Officer!

Jules is a member of the Sturgeon Bay Police Cadets and is now a Community Service Officer for the Sturgeon Bay Police Department.

Congratulations Jules, and welcome to the team!

The Sturgeon Bay Police Department’s newest addition is Community Service Officer (CSO) Jules Reynolds.

CSO Reynolds is a graduate of Sturgeon Bay School District and currently a Criminal Justice student at NWTC Public Safety Education, pursuing law enforcement.

Do you know a high school junior or senior who would be interested in a career in law enforcement?

This is WSP’s eighth year partnering with the Wisconsin American Legion for the Wisconsin American Legion Law Enforcement Career Academy. The next session runs July 29-August 2, 2024 at the State Patrol Academy in Fort McCoy.

WALLECA provides first-hand experiences and insight into the operation of law enforcement agencies. WALLECA offers physical fitness training coupled with classroom instruction and hands-on training.

Topics of instruction include:
-Crime scene investigation
-Fi****ms training
-Defense and arrest tactics
-OWI enforcement
-Human trafficking
-Tactical response
-Ethics
-Team building exercises

A big thank you to our District Attorney for helping with a first-time event (court room 👨‍⚖️). We even got a surprise visit from the Judge.

We know how to respond - but getting questioned on the stand can be a little nerve wracking.

The 𝐖𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐋𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐋𝐚𝐰 𝐄𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐲 (WALLECA) application process is open and deadline to apply is March 31, 2024. The academy is open to juniors and seniors. The application is available on the Wisconsin American Legion website at: 𝐡𝐭𝐭𝐩𝐬://𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧.𝐨𝐫𝐠/𝐰𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐚/. The curriculum includes fi****ms training, ethics, crime scene investigation, physical readiness training, and much fore.
