Whitefish Dunes State Park
3275 Clark Lake Rd, Sturgeon Bay, WI 54235
Whitefish Dunes State Park, established in 1967, is an 865-acre day-use park on the eastern shore of the Door Peninsula. This day-use park preserves the most substantial dunes on the western shore of Lake Michigan and has the largest and most significant Great Lakes Dunes scape in Wisconsin. There are numerous hiking, snowshoeing, and X-country skiing trails as well.

The Red Pine Lot has an area for parking. It's located just south of the WFDunes park entrance and just before the creek crosses the road. There's a short trail leading to a boardwalk that overlooks the upper creek area. Here you'll also find hiking trails, snowshoes, and X-country ski trails leading into the dunes. There is one 'spur' trail to the south leading to Whitefish Creek. Fish, frogs, dragonflies, grasshoppers, bees, hornets, wasps, butterflies, mink, muskrats, and many species of wildflowers, lichens, and other wonders all around! Take a hike and enjoy the variety of nature!
