PCHS Team camp! 🏐💚

Date: Monday(June 15th) and Tuesday (June 16th)
Time: 9am-4pm
Who: rising 7th-12th graders
Where: PCHS gym
Cost: free!!

Additional information:
—the school parking lot is being repaved. Athletes need to park at the library circle if driving and parents can drop athletes off at the library circle and athletes can walk down the sidewalk in front of the school to the gym entrance (Pickup will be in the same place)
—athletes must pack their lunch for both days
—be there by 8:45 to get gym set up & ready to go before 9am

Patrick County Parks & Recreation would like to thank the Powerline Class students for installing new lights at the lower soccer field at Rotary Club of Stuart VA. This class was created in partnership with Patrick & Henry Community College and Wytheville Community College. Students taking the class gain hands-on experience that can help them secure employment after graduation. This project helped the students gain more experience and improve the infrastructure at the Rotary field.

Park & Rec Director Luke Williams is grateful that the department was able to work with the class. He stated that he “believed this would be an amazing opportunity for the class to gain some experience. They replaced and added new lights on the upper soccer field, along with new lights on the lower soccer field, and added lights on the demolition derby track. We are very appreciative of the work they have done for us! ”

The lights and light poles were graciously donated by Patrick County Public Schools. Patrick County Parks & Recreation is thankful for the strong support the department receives from our local school district and community colleges. The department looks forward to including local students in more projects and improving our county’s recreation areas.

Patrick County Parks & Recreation would like to thank Phillip Steagall and the Patrick County High School Building Trades 2 Class for building seven benches that will be used during the Recreation Soccer and Flag Football season. The class built four 8ft benches and three 10ft benches to replace the old ones that needed significant repairs. Patrick County Parks & Recreation is proud to support the Patrick County High School vocational classes that provide hands-on training and real-world job experience to the next generation. Their contribution will be used and enjoyed for years to come. We look forward to continuing our partnership with Patrick County Public Schools and facilitating more student projects.
