Developmental Education Services of Monroe County Inc. We meet the Human Service needs of the community and provide a continuum of educational, therapeutic and referral services for our clients.

DES provides therapeutic, educational and vocational programs to meet the needs of adults with intellectual disabilities and their families. DES has been a county leader in several programs. DES Community Partners in Recycling is a community-based employment program based out of the Stroudsburg facility, employing 12 individuals with disabilities. DES was the first agency in Monroe County to provi

de early intervention programs, the first to develop a completely community-based vocational training and employment program, and currently is the largest provider in Monroe County of adult training services.

At Developmental Education Services (DES), our Pre-Vocational Services help individuals develop the skills and confidence needed to prepare for future employment opportunities.

Participants learn valuable life and workplace skills, including:
✅ Budgeting and money management
✅ Communication and teamwork
✅ Time management and responsibility
✅ Community volunteer opportunities
✅ Resume-building experiences

Through hands-on learning and volunteer work, individuals gain real-world experience that helps strengthen their resumes and prepares them for future employment success.

Our goal is to provide the tools, support, and opportunities needed to help individuals reach their fullest potential and take meaningful steps toward employment and independence.

Our individuals had an amazing time exploring the Sound Park and creating music together outdoors! From tapping rhythms to experimenting with different sounds, everyone enjoyed expressing themselves through music while soaking up the beautiful sunshine.

The Sound Park provides a fun and interactive way to encourage creativity, teamwork, and self-expression. There were plenty of smiles, laughter, and memorable moments as our participants discovered new sounds and made music together.
