As we approach the 25th anniversary of September 11th, Heidi Martens from WBRE/WYOU TV is working on a special report about the experiences of the veterans who answered the call after 9/11, particularly those who served in Iraq or Afghanistan.
"I’m hoping to speak with veterans who are comfortable sharing what coming home was like, including the challenges of readjusting to civilian life, the impact of their experiences on relationships, work or everyday life, and what helped them along the way.
I know these can be deeply personal experiences, and there is absolutely no pressure to share anything you’re not comfortable discussing. My goal is simply to give veterans a respectful space to tell their stories in their own words.
