Assistant Manager Sierra Lefurgy was delighted to present at East Stroudsburg University's HRTM Event Planning class, where she discussed the Pocono Chamber and how to plan a successful event in the Poconos. Two groups of students will have the opportunity to volunteer and gain hands-on experience at the Bizzy Awards and Pickle Me Poconos, allowing them to see the behind-the-scenes process of bringing an event to fruition. The Pocono Chamber is celebrating National Dog Day with the Animal Welfare Society of Monroe (AWSOM), a proud member of our chamber. AWSOM provides shelter and medical care for companion animals, ensuring they are free from abuse, hunger, fear, and loneliness until they are placed in responsible forever homes. They are open seven days a week, and we encourage you to check them out!

We also had the opportunity to visit Camp Papillon Animal Shelter, the beneficiary of our Pickle Me Poconos event, and we had a fantastic time playing with their adoptable pups!

Pocono Chamber Director Sarah Wallace and Assistant Manager Sierra Lefurgy were honored to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new University Center at East Stroudsburg University. This marks an incredible milestone for the school, and this space will serve as a foundation for great opportunities for students, community members, and future leaders.

This event was particularly meaningful for Sierra, as she is an ESU graduate and currently serves as a member of the East Stroudsburg University Alumni Board.
