Dear Stringtown school family:
This past week, part of our heart was taken from us way too soon. Bailee Deems, an 11th grade student at Stringtown, who was a beloved member of our school for thirteen years. Stringtown School has always felt like a family rather than a school. The students and their loved ones are very much a part of our family.
Her absence has affected everyone, not only in our school but throughout our whole community. The sorrow we feel for her family and the heartbreak we all share of losing a student and a friend will forever remind us of the importance of nurturing that family. Her presence at our school was one of consistency. Bailee was dependable and trustworthy... the kind of student that a teacher dreams of. She was hardworking, dedicated, kind, and caring.
She was on her way to becoming the Valedictorian of her class and chasing her dreams into adulthood. Her teachers speak of her many talents, her positive attitude, and her great work ethic. Her friends tell of a silly and carefree girl who made everyone laugh. But most importantly, we all remember her as a generous and loving soul who never spoke ill of anyone.
Bailee was loved by so many, and her passing is difficult for us all. To support our school community during this difficult time, counselors will be available throughout the week. If your child would like to talk with someone about their experience or feelings of loss, or if you have concerns about how they are coping, please contact the school office.
Bailee’s celebration of life will be Tuesday, May 5th at 2:00 PM in the Stringtown Event Center. Her family has extended an invitation to all friends and family who would like to attend.
Stringtown is a close-knit school community. In our school family, no one experiences pain or loss alone. We pray that her memory lives on through the lives she impacted and that God comforts us all in the years to come. Please continue to keep Bailee’s family in your thoughts and prayers.

Sincerely,

The Stringtown Public School Faculty & Staff

This program is open to students who have completed 1st through 6th grade.

Our exciting theme this year, “Wild About Reading: Extinction is Forever! Don’t Let Them Disappear!”, will focus on learning about endangered animals, their habitats, and ways we can help protect them. Students will also enjoy engaging activities that integrate technology and art throughout each fun-filled day.

Classes will begin on Tuesday, May 26 at 8:00-12:00.

If you are interested in enrolling your child, please contact Mrs. Murray or Mrs. Wood at (580) 346-7741 by May 4. Be sure to let us know if transportation is needed.

We look forward to a fun and enriching summer!

Parents please be weather aware this afternoon- storms are scheduled to hit around dismissal time. If you would like to come check your student out you may do so and they will not be counted absent. If a tornado warning is in place students will not be permitted to leave until it is safe and bus routes may be delayed. Safety is our utmost priority.
