Fatal Motorcycle Crash

On Tuesday, September 1, 2026, there was a fatal motorcycle crash in the 10100 block of Page Road in the City of Streetsboro. At 2:03am, Dispatch received an iPhone report of a crash/collision with a latitude/longitude pinpointing to an address on Page Road. Streetsboro Police, Fire/EMS were dispatched to the scene.

First responding officers found a male off of the side of the road with a motorcycle nearby. The male was identified as Wayne Selby. Mr. Selby had suffered significant injuries in the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene a short time later. During the investigation, live wires were found in the vicinity, and the power was out to at least one home.

The Portage County Coroner’s Office was called to the scene and the Summit Metro Crash Team responded to complete a full investigation. The Crash Team is comprised of police departments within Summit and Portage County, including Streetsboro. The team pools resources such as trained investigators and equipment for fatal and serious injury crashes. Page Road was closed between Hannum and Dunlap until the onsite investigation was completed and Ohio Edison could make repairs to live wires.

Selby was a 62-year-old male who both lived and worked in Streetsboro. The motorcycle, a silver 2009 Harley Davidson Street Glide, suffered disabling damage and was towed from the scene by Gateway Towing.

At this time, there are no indications of another vehicle involved or an additional passenger on the bike. The investigation is on-going. Anyone with information about the crash is encouraged to contact SPD Dispatch at 330-626-4976 or email [email protected].

As a reminder, construction on SR 14 and SR 303 east intersection will continue while the intersection is reshaped and a traffic light is installed. The paving on SR 14 and SR 43 will continue through to December. We couldn't make up all of these road closures if we tried. On the plus side, Chick-fil-A will be having their grand opening on Thursday 9-3-2026, and we did hear from a 🐄 to eat mor chikin and that they are still hiring employees for day time hours. and

We know you know our dogs aren't calling you, but we aren't calling you either. At least one business got a call from our "K9" team soliciting donations. While we do accept donations for the K9 program through the Streetsboro Police Association, a 501C3 organization run by SPD officers, we are NOT calling and asking for money. If you receive a similar call, do not give them any info or money and hang up.

Construction Update 88/25/2026
The good, the bad, the good, more good and the we don't know.
The good - SR 303 and Diagonal is looking great, no official end date but there is a light at the end of tunnel.
For the bad - work has yet to begin on Seasons Road culvert. No ETA.
More good - Streetsboro Service Department has been working hard to repair road issues on Seasons Road and they are making big headway while the road is closed.
More good - work has started on the SR 303/Ranch Road intersection where the intersection will change from a Y to a T and have a new light making it much safer for everyone.
The unknown - SR 14/SR 43, progress-yes, end date - when we know, you will know.

On Saturday August 22, 2026 at 2:28am, Streetsboro Police Department received a 911 call from the driver of a tractor trailer that had been involved in a head-on collision in the 10300 block of SR 43. Streetsboro Police Officers, Streetsboro Fire and Streetsboro EMS were immediately dispatched to the scene. The semi-driver reported an engine fire that appears to have been contained within the engine compartment and was put out shortly after SPD police officers arrived on scene.

Initial evidence indicates the driver of the southbound 2012 white Nissan Altima, Andrew Glantz, a 29-year-old male from Kent, Ohio, traveled left of center into the northbound lanes where his vehicle collided head on with a northbound 2023 International tractor-trailer driven by a 55-year-old male from Akron, Ohio.

The driver of the Nissan died at the scene, the International driver was shaken up but had no visible injuries.

The crash occurred in a 50mph zone, the Nissan suffered catastrophic damage and the International tractor suffered considerable damage. At this time, there is no indication the fire made it into the passenger compartment of the Nissan.

The Summit Metro Crash team was called to the scene for the full investigation. The Crash Team is composed of police departments within Summit and Portage County, including Streetsboro. The team pools resources such as trained investigators and equipment for fatal and serious injury crashes.

SR 43 is closed between Ethan/Crane at the city’s north limits and at Frost Rd and SR 43 until the crash team completes their initial investigation and scene documentation and the vehicles are removed. Names held pending notification of family. ***ROADWAY OPENED 7:40am***

***New SCAM Alert - Please Share***
Criminals impersonating bank employees are calling bank customers from a spoofed phone number asking about a 'purchase' that was made.
Translation - creepy scammers are calling innocent victims from a phone with a fake caller ID to about a non-existent purchase.
When the innocent victim says they didn't make that 'purchase', the creepy scammers generously volunteer to come to the victim's home to get the 'compromised' card and offer a virtual or paper version until the new card shows up.
End result - the victim has given up their perfectly valid and usable debit or credit card, the creepy scammer and crew have charged as much as possible before being discovered, and the victim's accounts are maxed out or emptied.
1. Do not give out information over the phone, regardless of what the caller ID says. Spoofing apps change the caller ID to whatever the caller wants it to be, Anytown Bank, the Pentagon, the FBI etc.
2. If you get a text link, don't click it.
3. Bank employees or the FBI will never ask a customer to be involved in an investigation.
4. Bank employees or legitimate government agencies will never ask for bitcoin, crypto, or gift cards.
5. Legitimate bank employees or government agencies will never tell you to lie to family members.

Learned something new today. We need dry roads to do the lane shift at SR 14/SR 43. Raise your hand if you are guilty of thinking it was because the crews didn't want to work in the rain: 🙋 It isn't. The temporary striping has to be put down on dry pavement and concrete or it won't stick. Doesn't sound like a big deal but, even with all the signs, barrels and striping we have had drivers going where they aren't supposed to. Can you imagine without the lane striping? So, keep your fingers crossed for dry pavement so the shift can take place tonight and join us in ignoring the weather forecast for storms.
