services. While comments and interaction with the page are encouraged, this is a
moderated online discussion site and a limited public forum. Visitors shall comply with
these Community Guidelines. The Village’s social media site(s) are not to be used for making an official report,
application, or request for service, including emergency service. In case of an

Comments posted on this social media page are subject to disclosure as public records in
accordance with applicable laws and regulations. A comment posted by a member of the
public on the Village social media site is the opinion of the commenter or poster only,
and publication of a comment does not imply endorsement of, or agreement by, the
Village, nor do such comments necessarily reflect the policies, practices, or official
opinions of the Village. Content and comments containing any of the following are not allowed on the Village’s

• Content that promotes, fosters, or perpetuates discrimination on the basis of

suggestive or explicit content links to such materials.

• Impersonating or falsely misrepresenting your affiliation with the Village or any
Village personnel.
• Conduct or content that violates any federal, state, or local law.
• Posts or comments that reveal an individual’s or entity’s personal or private
information not intended for public disclosure.
• Spamming or repetitive content.
• Charitable solicitations or political campaigning.
• Promotion of or providing information about illegal activity, encouragement of
illegal activity, or illegal activity.
• Information or content that incites violence.
• Content that violates a legal ownership interest, such as a copyright, trademark,
service mark, trade secret, or other propriety right of any party. The Village does
not permit or allow copyright-infringing activities or infringement of intellectual
property rights on its social media site(s). It will remove any and all content and
submissions if properly notified that such content or submission infringes on
another’s intellectual property rights.
• Comments from children under 13 cannot be posted in order to comply with the
Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act. By posting on a Village media site, users
acknowledge that they are at least 13 years old. Parents are responsible for any
minor child’s posting or comments.
• Content that incites violence.
• Information that may tend to compromise or interfere with ongoing
investigations of law enforcement, police tactics, or the safety or security of the
public or public systems.
• Any action which disrupts the operation of service, including cyber-attacks.
• Content determined to be disturbing, inappropriate, in poor taste, or otherwise
contrary to the purposes of this forum. If a visitor violates the community guidelines, the Village may, but is not obligated, to
take any or all the following steps:
• Remove or hide the content.
• Terminate or block a visitor’s access to the Village’s page.
• Report visitor(s) to Facebook. Elected Village Officials, except for the Village President, are unable to post or respond
to items on the Village’s page to avoid conflict with the Open Meetings Act. If
