This award recognizes schools whose communities actively engage with school communication, and we are honored that our weekly Canton Smore Newsletter was among the most-read and interacted-with in the district.

A huge thank you to our families, students, staff, and community members who take the time to stay connected, celebrate our successes, and support the work happening at Canton. Your engagement helps strengthen our school community and ensures we are all working together to support our students.

Today, we had the opportunity to welcome new staff members to Canton Middle School as we prepare for an exciting new chapter ahead!
As Canton continues to grow and nearly double in size next year, we are incredibly excited about the future and the amazing educators joining our team. Staff enjoyed tours of the building, time to connect, and a cookout together as we begin building relationships and strengthening our PRIDE culture. 💙🐾
The race to excellence has no finish line, and we can’t wait to grow together as one Canton community!

Ceremony will be in the Gymnasium (enter Door 34) at Streamwood High School.

Canton’s Athletic Department celebrated our 178 student athletes with many awards honoring their hard work and achievement this school year. Student athletes were awarded for playing multiple sports, holding a high GPA, MVPs and Most Improved. Our 7th grade boys volleyball won highest GPA average at 3.65.

Our 2026 Vince Harris Hustle Award winners are Ariana Flores and Oluwasemilore Banjo.

Congratulations to all of Canton's Student Athletes! Way to go Cougars!

And a special thanks to the families that contributed to the delicious potluck dinner, Canton's PTO for serving drinks, and to Canton's Athletic Director, Dr. McEvilly, for organizing such an amazing event for our students and their families.

Canton Middle School proudly hosted U-46’s annual Motor Activities Day, bringing together students from Exceptional Needs II classrooms across the district for a day filled with movement, music, games, storytelling, connection, and joy.
A huge thank you to Cheryl Romeo for coordinating this incredible event along with our amazing staff and student volunteers who helped make the day so special. We are proud to be part of creating inclusive experiences where all students feel supported, connected, and celebrated.

Finishing Strong at Canton! 🏁

It is hard to believe there are only 8 days left in the school year! As we head into the final stretch, we are encouraging all students to stay focused, continue showing PRIDE, and finish the year strong.

A few important reminders:

Yondr Pouch Collection – May 18th
Students will return their Yondr pouches on May 18th. Please help your child locate their pouch now and make sure it is brought to school. Any pouch not returned will result in a $30 replacement fee.

Locker Clean-Out – May 18th
Students will also clean out lockers on May 18th. We encourage students to begin bringing items home over the next week instead of waiting until the final day.

8th Grade Dance Tickets – Deadline Extended
Good news — the deadline to purchase 8th grade dance tickets has been extended! The last day to purchase tickets is now Tuesday, May 12th. It’s not too late to join the fun — we hope your student can make it!

Let’s finish the year strong, Cougars!
