Congratulations to Lieutenant Kevin Albohn! 👏💙

The Stratford Police Department is proud to recognize Lieutenant Kevin Albohn, who was honored with the Local Hero Award at the First Annual Local Heroes Gala.

Throughout his more than 18 years with the Stratford Police Department, Lt. Albohn has demonstrated a firm commitment to our community, particularly Stratford’s youth and families. He co-founded the Stratford Police Explorer Program in 2009, continues to mentor future law enforcement professionals, and currently serves as Executive Director of the Stratford Police Athletic League (PAL).

Through PAL, Lt. Albohn has helped create programs that bring officers and youth within the community together. From athletics and outdoor activities to the annual Holidays with Heroes toy and food drives, these initiatives strengthen community connections while supporting more than 300 Stratford families in need each year.

Lt. Albohn’s leadership, dedication to public service and commitment to building meaningful relationships within our community truly embody what it means to be a local hero.

🚨SEEKING THE PUBLIC’S HELP IDENTIFYING PERSONS CONNECTED TO SCOOTER THEFT FROM ELDERLY RESIDENT🚨

The STRATFORD POLICE DEPARTMENT is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the two individuals pictured in connection with the theft of a motor scooter on 08/15/2026 in the area of the 1160 Stratford Ave. The victim arrived home and parked his scooter in the early afternoon. Immediately after getting off his scooter the two younger individuals took the opportunity to steal the scooter from the victim.

The scooter, a color black TAZHOU TECH 49CC MOTOR SCOOTER, belongs to an elderly resident who relies on it for transportation and simply wants it returned. Anyone who knows where the scooter is located may contact investigators. Arrangements can also be made for its safe return.

Investigators recognize that the surveillance image is not clear enough to show detailed features. However, someone may recognize the individuals by their clothing, physical appearance, association with one another, or knowledge of the incident.

At the time, both individuals were riding the pictured scooter. The operator wore a bright pink or red long-sleeved top and dark pants. The passenger wore dark clothing and light-colored footwear.

Anyone who recognizes either individual or who has video, photographs, or information concerning the scooter’s location is asked to contact Detective Policano at [email protected]

The victim simply wants his scooter returned.
