❗ 𝗩𝗗𝗢𝗧 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 – 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲 ❗

This notice has been shared in recent newsletters, and we are providing a reminder so residents and businesses can plan ahead.

Due to contractor supply issues, the previously scheduled closure has been rescheduled.

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will be completing bridge repairs at mile marker 𝟐𝟖𝟒.𝟗 𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 on Route 604 (Fairview Road). Southbound traffic on Interstate 81 will be fully closed for approximately 12 to 18 hours during this work.

The closure is currently planned for 𝐒𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝟐𝟏, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, beginning at 𝟓:𝟎𝟎 𝐩.𝐦., 𝐰𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠. If weather conditions require a change, updates will be provided.

Traffic will be diverted from 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝟴𝟭 𝘀𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗯𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗼𝗺𝘀 𝗕𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗲𝘅𝗶𝘁 (𝗘𝘅𝗶𝘁 𝟮𝟵𝟭) and rerouted back onto the interstate at Woodstock. Due to this diversion, traffic delays and congestion are expected in and around Strasburg.

To minimize impacts within the Town of Strasburg and to keep tractor-trailers off local side roads, several streets will be closed to through traffic but will remain open to local residents, including:

• Park Road at Front Royal Road
• West Washington Street at North Massanutten Street
• Powhatan Road at Ash Street and Junction Road
• Capon Street at John Marshall Highway and West King Street
• Side streets off the main thoroughfares

𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬

Parking 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐧𝐨𝐭 be permitted along 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐧 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐊𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐧 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐀𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐮𝐞 during the closure timeframe. This restriction is necessary to allow oversized vehicles to safely pass through Town and to ensure emergency vehicles have unobstructed access along the route.

Reminder notices will be posted in advance and placed on vehicles in the affected areas. Alternative parking locations will be identified to assist residents.

This information remains preliminary. Additional details will be shared as they become available from VDOT.

Residents are encouraged to follow the Town of Strasburg’s official page for updates. Temporary “No Parking” signage will be posted in advance.

Tomorrow night at 7PM, the Town Council will continue the discussion on whether we provide water/sewer to the Holtzman property and all the issues surrounding this decision. They are almost here!! Let's give them a big Strasburg Congratulations!!

🏈💜 𝗟𝗜𝗡𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗘𝗘𝗧𝗦, 𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗦𝗕𝗨𝗥𝗚! 💜🏈

Our Rams are coming home, and there will be a parade through town to welcome them back!

📍Details:

• The team will meet at the New Market Fire Department
• They will travel north on Route 11 through Shenandoah County into Strasburg
• Buses are loading now and expected to depart around 3:00 p.m.
• Estimated arrival in New Market is around 5:00 p.m.
• Estimated arrival in Strasburg is approximately 5:30 p.m.

Please note, the team will not be stopping for food along the way.

Grab your purple, bring your signs, and come out to cheer them home. Let’s show our Rams how proud Strasburg and Shenandoah County are of them!

A few updates on happenings around Strasburg. First, please don't forget that this Saturday, Dec. 6th, kicks off the most wonderful time of year!
• Start with breakfast at the Strasburg Fire Department from 7AM - 11AM with Santa joining at 9AM for pictures!
• Mistletoe Market is from 1PM – 4PM for Christmas treats and unique gifts!
• Parade starts at 4:30 with Christmas Tree lighting to follow!

I also wanted to share a few highlights with projects that have been in the works for a long time.

As everyone can see, Sheetz is moving along and is expected to open in the Spring.

We heard a presentation from the Senior Project Manager at Dewberry on the progress of our much-anticipated Police Department. As many know, this will be in the former BB&T bank building. I have included a few of the sample design slides from that presentation. This building will go a long way in building morale within our department, as well as giving the public more direct access to those who serve our community. They anticipate a construction start date of March or April.

Lastly, we have open positions on our Planning Commission and Architectural Review Boards. This is an opportunity to contribute to the community’s future by participating in decisions that shape the character and quality of life in Strasburg.
