We had a bit of a surprise visitor today! This adventurous girl managed to slip through the doors and decided our fiction section was the perfect spot for a nap.

After a quick orientation and a VIP tour of the stacks, we officially named her Catniss.

We eventually had to send her back on her outdoor adventures. May the odds be ever in her favor. 🐈

A Mighty Girl wishes you a happy Hanukkah and a joyous holiday with your family and friends! The eight-day festival of lights begins this evening at sunset.

Update: Since we shared this message, devastating news has emerged from Sydney, Australia, where a terrorist attack targeted a Hanukkah community gathering to light the first candle. We hold the victims and their loved ones, and the Jewish community at large, in our hearts. In the face of hatred, may we all be a source of light and support for one another.

We also wish a swift recovery to Ahmed al Ahmed, a Muslim father of two who, without hesitation, tackled and disarmed one of the gunmen -- he was shot twice but is in stable condition. A powerful reminder that light can emerge even in the darkest moments.
