On this evening, 21 years ago, 246 people went to sleep in preparation for their morning flights. 2,606 people went to sleep in preparation for work in the morning. 343 firefighters went to sleep in preparation for their morning shift. 60 police officers went to sleep in preparation for morning patrol. 8 paramedics went to sleep in preparation for the morning shift of saving lives. None of them saw past 10:00am on Sept 11, 2001. In one single moment, life may never be the same. As you live and enjoy the breaths you take tonight before you go to sleep in preparation for your life tomorrow, kiss the ones you love, snuggle a little tighter, and never take one second of your life for granted.

And please say a special prayer for those protecting your freedom, home and abroad, and those responders selflessly serving the public every day.

9/11. Never forget.

On 08/31/2022 @ 12:17 AM, Stow Police and Fire departments responded to a serious-injury crash on SR-59 (Kent Rd.) at Hiwood Ave..

A silver 2014 Chevy Camaro that was traveling westbound on SR-59 drove into a coned-off work zone and struck two road crew members who had been painting roadway markings at the intersection (a crosswalk and a stop bar).

The passenger from the vehicle was located a short time later. She was treated for minor injuries and would later be released with no charges. A K-9 track was initiated in an attempt to locate the driver. Officers and K-9 Diesel located the male a short time later hiding in the yard of a residence in the 3500 block of Kent Rd.
