K9 Veterans Day is observed annually on March 13 to honor the service and sacrifices of U.S. military and working dogs. Established in 1942 as the "K-9 Corps," this day recognizes canine heroes in the military, police, and specialized detection roles.

Today is the day to salute our four-legged heroes and reflect on their valor, remember those that have passed, and recognize the tireless efforts of active-duty service dogs.

“With the holidays around the corner, we would like to invite everyone to join us for the 6th annual laying of wreaths for our Vets on Saturday Dec 13th, at 11:00 at Brookside Cemetery. As in years past, our goal is to have a wreath for each of our 400 veterans laid to rest in Stow. We can only achieve this with your help. Please help us by donating an undecorated wreath, which can be dropped off on the bench outside at 453 Great Rd on or before Thursday Dec 10th or purchased via Stow’s Scout Troop 1 web site (troop1stow.net). We would also like to invite everyone to join us at Brookside Cemetery and help us lay the wreaths.
Thank you very much and we look forward to your help and joining us at the ceremony at the Brookside Cemetery, at 11:00 am on December 13th.”
