As one storm winds down, the Stow Department of Public Works is working closely with the Stow Police Department and the Stow Fire Department to prepare for what is forecasted to be the most significant storm of the season.

Current forecasts are calling for strong winds, heavy snowfall, and the potential for power outages. As we know all too well in New England, conditions can change quickly. Please plan ahead, check on neighbors, charge devices, and avoid unnecessary travel during the height of the storm. Stay safe and give our crews the space they need to keep roads clear.

Due to tomorrow's impending storm, there will be an on street parking ban in effect from 12pm on February 22nd through 7am on February 24th.

The heaviest snow is expected to start around 6pm tomorrow evening. If you do lose power, please contact Hudson Light and Power directly at (888) 404‑4573 to report the outage. Outage updates can also be found at https://gis.hudsonlight.com/mpoweroutagemap/

Additionally, if you lose power and are in need of a place to warm up, the police station lobby is available.

Town officials will continue to work with public safety officials to monitor situation, and we will put out more updates if/when needed.

Stay safe and warm everyone and be sure to give an extra big thank you to our DPW workers who will be working extra hard during this storm!

Yesterday we kicked off our spring street sweeping program with the help of Millennium Sweeping!

Their team will be working across town to remove sand, salt, and debris left over from the winter months. This work helps keep our streets clean, improves stormwater drainage, and enhances the overall appearance of our community.

We appreciate your patience as crews make their way through neighborhoods. Please try to keep streets clear of parked vehicles when possible to help them work efficiently. We expect the project to be completed by the end of next week, depending on weather and available equipment.

Cleaner streets are on the way — thank you for your support!

🚧 National Public Works Week 🚧
This week, we proudly recognize and celebrate the hard work and dedication of the Stow Department of Public Works (DPW)!

From snow removal in the toughest New England storms to road repairs that keep our community moving, the Stow DPW is always on the job. We’re also behind the scenes maintaining the cemeteries, public grounds, and the town’s fleet of vehicles—keeping everything running smoothly and safely.

This past week, our team is hard at work preparing Stow’s cemeteries and public spaces for Memorial Day, ensuring everything is ready for the community to honor and remember those who served.

To all of our crew—thank you for your dedication, pride, and the essential work you do every day. 👷‍♂️👷‍♀️

🚛 Fleet Friday at the DPW!
We’re always happy to lend a hand to our fellow departments when it comes to keeping their vehicles in top shape. This week, we’re replacing ball joints, performing some preventative maintenance, and applying an undercoating to help protect the frame for the long haul.

Keeping the fleet strong and ready for anything! 💪🔧
