Morgan County Co-Op & Free Food Coalition We connect fruit and veg food farmers with local people who need it. It's a tricky allergy where even tiny bits of mammal stuff can cause big reactions. Why?

|_Our Mission_|
To empower individuals with Alpha-Gal Syndrome in Morgan County and beyond by cultivating and providing access to 100% mammal-free produce grown with clean and innovative methods, thereby alleviating dietary restrictions, promoting health, and fostering a supportive community. (Missouri, Morgan County)

☀️ Growing Goodness, Mammal-Free! ☀️

Ever heard of Alpha-Gal Syndrome (AGS)?

That's why the Morgan County Co-Op, Free Food Coalition is on a mission! Our goal is simple: grow super-safe and yummy fruits, veggies, and herbs that are 100% FREE of any mammal byproducts – from the seed all the way to your plate! 🌱 We're talking clean soil, soilless growing – the works! Because for our friends with AGS, even food grown near mammals can be a problem. We're creating a mammal-free zone for delicious, healthy eats! We're also teaming up with awesome local farmers and gardeners who get it – growing for our community. And guess what? We're setting up a special, easy-to-find spot near Stover (just off South-135!) where folks with AGS can directly access this safe food. It's like a community-powered fresh produce stand, run by people who care. ❤️

This isn't a business – it's neighbors helping neighbors. We rely on the kindness of gardeners and makers who are creating AGS-safe goodies. It's a big challenge, but it's SO important because for many with AGS, even a vegan diet isn't enough without this super-clean produce. We need these safe foods to eat! Want to join our growing movement? If you're a local, mammal-free gardener or maker, we'd LOVE to connect! Let's grow a healthier, safer future together! 🥕🥦🍎

A research team led by Dr. Michael Chao, Dr. Priscilla Brenes, Dr. Yoonseong Park, and Paige Tegeler is diving into an emerging health issue: Alpha-Gal Syndrome (AGS). AGS is a potentially life-changing allergy to red meat and other mammal-derived products triggered by a bite from the Lone Star tick. This study aims to better understand the prevalence of AGS in Kansas and the challenges faced by those living with this condition.

The team is hosting informal listening sessions designed to foster conversation, share insights about AGS and their research, and address questions. Learn more at https://kstate.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_8lcyzEprMnaZ9Ns

Our biggest goal is to grow manmal-free fruit and produce, edible flowers and herbs, spices and tea mixtures of plants.
We want to feed the local AlphaGal allergy community, as well as those who are hungry, and those who are needy. Nobody's home should be deprived of fresh, year-round, access to .

Our market is for those who want it, and they will help fund our operation to successfully and reliably feed our neighbors, and is free for those who cannot afford to purchase it. Everyone deserves access.

Food feeds your soul and your body. I don't know anyone who is successful that goes without a reliable diet to depend upon - and for those allergic to everything on the shelf, this may be their only safe choice for foods.

Most AGS software are basically vegan. Though there is permissible animal proteins like, poultry, and most fresh water fish, some seafood and ocean fish, and most reptiles & amphibians (which most humans do not eat around here.)

All mammals, their byproducts, and anything they derived from mammals and turned into chemicals, are not at all safe for human consumption with AlphaGal allergy/mammalian allergy, or Mast Cell disease, or many other (presumably rare, but are becoming much now prevalent,) medical subscribers, diseases, cancers, and so on.

It is outright life-threatening.

AlphaGal Allergy/AGS is very quickly becoming the world's top most severe allergy, and of the top ten, it is currently number two, with shellfish at number one, and with hundreds of millions of people (or more, say many reputable researchers,) worldwide who currently have the diagnosis. (As of 2020, 4 years ago.)

Of these diagnosed, 80% of them are anaphylactic, and have permanent and possibly worsening allergic reactions that may suddenly get much more severe through each repetition of allergen exposure and/or consumption.

It's a big deal that our only food sources are also manmal-free. Not just carefully grown, but entirely devoid of any type of mammalian products.

It is vital we find/create ways to access these foods, and we are encouraging a far-teaching membership of fellow food farmers who are willing to grow food plants for our safe consumption. They're all willing to stay within the strict perimeters required for creating the outcome of truly 100% mammal-free produce, and/or any other creatures the AGS Community are allowed to consume.

This is a solution to a huge problem millions of people currently (&/or will soon) being effected by AHS! Not till mention ask if the vegan and vegetarians who already funny want anything mammalian in their diets. Unfortunately, AGS isn't a lifestyle choice, but we are forced to change our habits completely. Having clean produce sustainably and readily available would empower everyone, everywhere. But, baby steps.

It's vital and very much needed throughout the entire Eastern half of Continental North America - & is quickly spreading throughout the Western half as well.

Missouri is a perfect place to grow food, in greenhouses, and barns, and caves, and so on, year-round, and through climate control. We have 5 acres to start with, and are willing to acquire more to expand upon and grow to feed even more people!

Through the very kind hearts and generous sponsors to help fund us to build, manage, and grow, we want to feed our fellow community/neighbors, and inspire everyone else to copy us and improve upon the processes. And to see this everywhere.

Let's feed America, y'all!
