Our department lost a longtime member this week. Sam was a member of our department for almost 30 years, even through his health struggles he still strove to give back to the community ceaselessly. He was a great asset to the community and our department and will be greatly missed!

Today Carolyn Holbrook was honored with the lifetime achievement award for her dedication to Clearcreek and Washington Townships. She has been a member of this department since EMS was first started and today at 82 years old she averages over 500 runs per year. We are extremely thankful and proud of all Carolyn’s countless hours of service over the past decades and hope you all will take a moment to congratulate her on this well deserved award.

This morning just after 11AM our crews were dispatched to a mobile home fire on Dozer road with possible entrapment. Upon arrival of the first engine fire was seen throughout about half of structure. The first truck split its crew with one firefighter deploying a handline for fire attack and one firefighter breaching an external wall for a search. Within 3 minutes of arrival water was on the fire and one victim was located and evacuated from the structure. Life saving measures were started with assistance of the next in company. Our EMS crew took over care of the first victim while mutual aid companies cared for another victim that had self extricated. A third victim was later found in the structure as well. The fire was brought under control and the State Fire Marshall is investigating the fire. We would like to thank all of our neighboring departments for their assistance and box 65 as always for supporting us when we need it the most. Lastly we would like to say a special thanks you to the Clearcreek township employees who were the first on scene and were vital to our crews effectiveness in the first minutes on scene. Our thoughts are with the families and loved ones of the victims.

Sad to see the passing of a great man. He was a big help on many runs in and around Clearcreek township. Thanks for your service Gale.
