This morning at 7:00 AM crews were dispatched to Railroad street in the village of Stoutsville for a commercial fire at a privately owned grain storage facility. Upon arrival of ER 513 the crew found moderate smoke coming from a 900 bushel tower dryer. Once a 360 was completed a hole was located on the back of the dryer and flames were burning through the hole. A working fire assignment was started. Over the next three hours crews from 7 departments worked to contain and extinguish the fire. The fire was contained to the dryer and no injuries occurred. We would like to thank all of the surrounding departments and hat responded with us this morning as well as Box 65 for keeping our crews fed and hydrated.

Today the Ohio Fire Academy came to our station to do a fire behavior training for our members and members of surrounding departments. A big thanks to all of the instructors, our members and to the members from surrounding departments that came and took time out of their Sunday to become better firefighters.

We want everyone in Stoutsville to be aware that Earnhardt will be smoke testing the sewers in the village of Stoutsville today. If you have an odorless smoke appear inside your home this may be the culprit.

Today three of our members took one of our trucks to Athens County to provide ems coverage for the county while the department laid to rest one of their own. It was a privilege to help our fellow brothers and sisters in their time of need. Big thanks to the three that volunteered to work in Athens county today and also a big shout out to our other members who made sure our townships had coverage as well.

Just a reminder! Ohio is now in its Spring Fire Season 🔥 🔥

Ohio law states that most outdoor debris burning is prohibited in unincorporated areas from 6AM to 6PM in March, April and May.

If you choose to burn within the permitted hours, use a 55-gallon drum with a weighted screen lid to provide an enclosed incinerator. And remember, “Only you can prevent wildfires!"
