NEWS RELEASE May 27, 2026

Darren C. LeBrun, P.E., P.S., Scioto County Engineer, announced the work schedule for the week of June 1, 2026 through June 4, 2026 for the Engineer’s Department. All dates shown are weather permitting.

CONTRACTOR WORK

ROAD CLOSURE

Rocky Fork Rd. CR40 is closed at the 8.36-mile marker day and night. Road closure is between SR348 and Tick Ridge-Koenig Hill Rd. Contractor is replacing the bridge.

Pond Run Rd. TR100 is closed at the 1.90-mile marker day and night. Road closure is between FR13-McBride Rd. and Pond Run-Middle Fork TR510. Contractor is replacing the bridge.

Feurt Hill Road CR160 is closed until further notice due to a roadway slip. Road Closure is between Eagle Creek Drive TR1618 and Maple Benner Road CR64. Contractor is working on slip repair.

Clinton Furnace Road CR9 is closed between Monroe Road TR310 and Knapp Road TR341 due to a roadway slip.*

*A grant has been awarded through the Ohio Emergency Management Agency for roadway slips that occurred in 2025. The repairs are anticipated to be completed in 2027.

LANE RESTRICTIONS

Junior Furnace-Powellsville Rd (CR7) in Green Township – the bridge over US 52 is open. One lane maintained by traffic signals.

Cook Rd. (CR12) in Jefferson Township -lane restriction at the 1.86-mile marker due to a roadway slip.*

Henley Comstock Rd. (CR44) in Union Township -lane restriction at the 1.65-mile marker due to roadway slip.*

SPRAYING WILL TAKE PLACE FRIDAY, MAY 29TH due to being rained out last Friday.

Ohio Pest Control Inc. in conjunction with the Nile Township Trustees will be conducting mosquito spraying on Friday, May 29, 2026 from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM.

Those with respiratory problems should consider closing their windows and shutting off any window air conditioner units until the fog has dissipated.

Attention 4-H Groups that use the Nile Township Community Center for your meetings. We are looking for a group that would be willing to w**d the flower bed, in front of the building. We would appreciate any help.

Thanks to an Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation grant we were able to purchase 15 new Bullard Low Profile fire helmets. These helmets are significantly lighter weight and are easier to clean, both keeping firefighters safer. This Firefighter Exposure to Environmental Elements Grant, administered by BWC, covered the total cost of $6240 for the new gear. Also, thanks to All American Fire Equipment for helping obtain the gear.
