Story City is located in central Iowa on Interstate 35—only 10 minutes north of Ames/Iowa State University and 45 minutes north of Des Moines. The Story City Interstate 35 Business Park has an array of companies from Fortune 150 NextEra Energy, to international IndoShell Precision Technologies, to family owned Eby Manufacturing. Story City is an Iowa Main Street Community that includes the historic 1913 Story Theatre/Grand Opera House. Story City Community Health and Recreation Center is a partnership with Mary Greely Medical Center that provides a wide range of health and recreational facilities, programs and services for all ages. The Roland-Story Community School District is class 2A with an enrollment of approximately 980 students.

HILLCREST‼️:
The subcontractor got the 15” Storm Sewer, intakes, and manhole installed this week. They have a little bit of work to do yet Monday, then they should be out of there. Con-Struct will move back in and begin final earthwork and grading. ⚠️

567TH AVENUE‼️:
Con-Struct got most of their removals done out at 567th Avenue this week. The sub-contractor found out Friday that their crane guy will not be available to set the box culvert until September 11th. The sub doesn’t expect to start working out there until September 8th. ⚠️

📢BROAD STREET RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT-PHASE IV‼️

The project includes the reconstruction of Broad Street, from Lafayette Avenue to Elm Avenue, including the intersection of Broad Street & Elm Avenue. The contractor will start on September 8th & this will be a 45 working day project.

⚠️The detour heading west on Broad St. will be: Lafayette to Story, or Washington to Park. And of course, the other way if you are heading east.⚠️

In addition, on Broad Street between Pennsylvania & Elm - single reflective posts will be placed down the middle of the street. The last three parking spaces on both sides of Broad Street at Elm Ave. will be blocked off as well. The plan is to create a, "loop around the end" down by GNB and head back west. This will also help prevent U-turns.
