Hops 44 was a great host for our teams fundraising. The Roundup Campaign brought in over $264, the 10% back from the April event brought in over $740, and the Coors Banquet 10% sales added another $50.

This was certainly a team effort raising funds for a great cause.

Thank you to everyone who came out and donated, and for Hops 44 for hosting and assisting!

On Thursday, June 4, 2026, our Department held a promotional and swearing-in ceremony. This was a very proud moment for both our Department and the Town. The ceremony was originally scheduled for February 5, 2026, but was postponed due to the train derailment.

During the ceremony, Captain Rick Landry was formally recognized for his promotion from Firefighter to Captain, effective January 11, 2026. Captain Landry recently celebrated 13 years of full-time service with Mansfield Fire & Emergency Services, and we congratulate him on this well-deserved achievement.

We also welcomed several new firefighters to the Department. Four of our newest members recently graduated from the Connecticut Fire Academy and are now ready to begin their careers with Mansfield Fire & Emergency Services: Firefighter Kevin Ecesdy, Firefighter Andrew Hart, Firefighter Hannah Lee, and Firefighter Damien Tyler.

Firefighter Paul Penezic joins our Department as a lateral hire from Old Mystic Fire Department. Firefighter Casey Berryman graduated from the Connecticut Fire Academy in December 2025 and has begun serving our community. Firefighter Daniel Murphy, who has been a part-time member of our Department since July 2024, will transition into a full-time role later this month.

We also welcomed Firefighter Hunter Chipman and Firefighter Joseph Saccocio, both of whom were hired as part-time firefighters in March 2026.

Each member was individually sworn into service by Town Clerk Sara-Ann Chaine, making the ceremony a memorable occasion for the firefighters, their families, and our Department.

Please join us in congratulating Captain Landry and welcoming all of our newest members to the Mansfield Fire & Emergency Services family. We look forward to their continued service and dedication to our community.

These two guys share a couple of important dates in their MFD careers, so why not share a social media blast? Both were hired part-time on August 8, 2011, and transitioned to full-time status on June 2, 2013. Congratulations to FF/EMT Joe Burnham and Captain Rick Landry on 13 years of full-time service! Thank you for your dedication to MFD and the community.
