This past Friday, the Nathan Hale Battalion brought our MSIIIs to the range to get some hands on experience with marksmanship. In lieu of having a 300 meter range, cadets trained on an ALT-C weapons qualification. Cadets ran through grouping and zeroing and Table VI qualifications to familiarize themselves with both the M4 weapons system, and the process which they will follow at camp.

FTX has officially come and gone, and with it, one of the last major training event of the semester. MSIIIs from programs across the Northeast gathered at FT Devens to gain hands on experience with leadership, operating in unfamiliar terrain, and acclimating themselves to what CST will be like.

Now all that stands between these MSIIIs and their MSIV years is Advanced Camp. Best of luck to all MSIIIs attending CST this year, and congratulations on completing another year of training.

This monday was the first annual A Co hotdog eating competition. Three representatives from each class gathered to eat as many hotdogs as possible in 10 minutes. It came down to a heated match between the MSIIs and the MSIVs, with the MSIVs ultimately coming out on top.

This Friday, A Co cadets convened in the UConn Woods for their weekly lab. This week they took what they learned from previous labs into this Attack Run Lab.

In a run lab, cadets are largely left to make their own decisions and the outcome of their mission depends on how they react to unexpected threats. In short, it is the ultimate test of their leadership skills.

Contact Front!!!

Last Friday, A Co cadets took to the FRTA to conduct Movement to Contact. Movement was difficult in the deep snow, but A Co is comprised of hard chargers who were thoroughly prepared for the weather, making for a safe and productive training exercise.

Last Friday, A Co cadets gathered to complete their Title IX training courtesy of UCONN's Office for Inclusion and Civil Rights. Representatives from the office engaged A Co cadets with interactive exercises and presentations.
Following this presentation, the Company Commander, Cadet Perkins, and First Sergeant, Cadet Takacs, set the standards for the semester, as well as briefing the base OPORD to the MSIIIs.
To finish off the lab, A Co was moved to Hawley Armory, where they received instructions on basic military customs and courtesies.

Thank you to the Office for Inclusion and Civil Rights for providing an engaging and productive training to A Co.

A Co cadets kicked off the semester this Tuesday with an introduction from the MSIVs and their roles. Following this, A Co conducted a layout to ensure everyone has the cold-weather gear necessary to safely train this semester.

We are looking forward to the training opportunities and the events planned for this semester, and we hope that all A Co cadets have a successful semester.

Over this past weekend, UConn came together for the annual POW/MIA run to remember and show support to those who have been taken prisoner or gone missing in the line of duty, and their families. UConn Army ROTC and UConn Air Force ROTC both showed up in full force to show their support.

As special congratulations to cadets Jake Takacs, Jack Perkins, Brandon Alvarez, Joshua Kang, and Emma Belluscio, who each ran 27 miles during the run.
