New to our Rabbitry these Flemish Giants are about 4 mos old. At maturity they will weigh between 20-30 lbs !!!! We will free feed them because there is no "perfect" amount to offer .Since they grow so fast and are so large they need nutrition whenever they want it. They get fresh water every day. We added oats to their gain to increase their caloric intake. Did you take a look at those ridiculously large ears ????? What a hoot. They will "grow" into their ears ! Good thing eh ? But rabbit ears are serious business. That is where their thermostat is located. They are very vascular , if they get their ears cut or another rabbit is aggressive and bites the ear they can bleed to death. Since the ears are so important no one should ever pick up a rabbit by the ears !!!! This old rabbit lady needs help naming the newbies. We have one female who is slate color and 1 male who is brown. Any ideas ?
