App Functionality Impacts

On Monday, June 15th, the Town of Stonington will be migrating to a new website. When this happens there will be a temporary loss of functionality within the Town of Stonington App as some of the links back to website will not function. The Town will be working with vendors from both the website and the App to make sure that all the links within the App are restored as quickly as possible.
Push notifications and alerts within the App will not be affected by this work.

Stonington Sustainability and Resiliency Plan Community Workshop!!

The Town of Stonington is developing a sustainability and resiliency plan to bring together efforts related to sustainability and resiliency over the last ten years. We need your help!

DOG LICENSE RENEWALS

The Stonington Town Clerk’s Office would like to remind all dog owners that it is time to license their dogs for the 2026-2027 year. Licenses may be obtained in person from the Town Clerk’s Office, through the mail, or left in the drop box located outside of Town Hall. For mail or drop off renewals please enclose a self-addressed pre-stamped envelope with two stamps and any necessary paperwork for licensing.

The cost of a license in June is $8.00 for an altered dog and $19.00 for non-altered. After June 30th, by state law, there will be an additional late charge of $1.00 per month for each month that a dog over six months of age is not licensed. Owners must show proof that the rabies vaccination is current at the time of applying for the license.

Celebrate America 250 by learning to clean headstones and give back to those buried there, including numerous Revolutionary War veterans! No prior experience necessary.

Mystic Memorial Day Parade

Good morning,
The Mystic Memorial Day Parade is scheduled for 1pm this afternoon. As a result Route 1 from downtown Mystic to Cove Rd. will be temporarily closed during the parade. Police will re-open roadways as soon the parade passes but expect some traffic delays and detours in the area.
We hope Stonington has a meaningful Memorial Day as we remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

Stonington's Draft 2026 Plan of Conservation and Development (POCD) has been prepared and found to be substantially complete by the Planning and Zoning Commission. The overarching theme of the POCD is to Nurture, Celebrate, and Sustain Stonington, with strategies and actions that are intended to guide future conservation and development efforts for doing so.

This transmittal marks the beginning of the public review and comment period for the Draft POCD. A copy of the Plan, as well as an Executive Summary, has been posted to the Town's website:

The draft plan has also been filed with the Town Clerk as of May 20, 2026.

A public hearing has been scheduled by the Planning & Zoning Commission.
