We're pretty thrilled with this temporary new The Stonington Farmers' Market arrangement, and hope to see you there! Today and every Friday until Labor Day, 10 am - noon.

It is now easy to access the Market both from Main Street parking as well as from parking along the ballfield. You can park downtown and walk UP the beautiful Pink Street Walking Path; or park along the ballfield park and walk DOWN Memorial Lane.

Please follow the signs and cones, use the crosswalk, and stay off the road and out of traffic -- we want everyone to be safe and able to do their work, in addition to being well fed!

With thanks to the Island Community Center for working diligently to make this shift while we bring our 1905 Schoolhouse into the future as our new, fully-ADA accessible Small Business Connectivity Hub -- complete with elevator!

Get in person support and help for heating assistance (last chance for this year!) and more this Friday, May 29.

On Friday, May 29 from 10 am - 2 pm at the Deer Isle Town Hall, our county's Community Action Program will have its Mobile Service Unit on hand with live support for multiple programs, including the last day of applying for heating assistance.

While it feels as if it is finally becoming spring, securing assistance now not only provides immediate relief but also helps ensure a stronger, more prepared start to the colder months ahead -- and soaring energy costs.

Beyond support for the Home Energy Assistance Program enrollment, both the Mobile Service Unit and Action Program staff will connect community members to other essential programs and services, including additional financial assistance, housing supports, and energy efficiency resources.

We hope you will swing by and access this valuable, free service.

The great Stonington Farmers Market opens today, Friday, May 22. Things will be a bit different this year, we hope you will continue to enjoy it!

Due to construction of an elevator at the Town's Small Business Connectivity Hub -- the former elementary school building at 43 School Street -- the entire market will be in the LOWER parking lots around the Island Community Center.

While you are there, check out the Town's new grant funded solar microgrid project, with PV panels located on a new, 4-car carport in the market area! The system is due to go live, and start demonstrating both energy resiliency and savings for the public, within the month.

Parking is below in downtown, using the Pink Street Walking Path to come up to the Community Center; or above at the ballfield, using Memorial Lane to walk down to the Center and Market.

The clearly fenced off construction site is dangerous. Please do not try to go through or around the site.

Please FOLLOW SIGNAGE and help everyone out by paying attention to these changes: being respectful, kind, and courteous.
