Mardi Gras Celebration Stonewall
Join us Saturday, March 7, 2026, for a fun-filled Mardi Gras Parade and Community Celebration in Stonewall!

🎭 Parade Lineup: 10:00 a.m.
🎉 Parade Begins: 11:00 a.m.
📍 Lineup location: Jones Community College, traveling north on Hwy 513 in Stonewall.

Vendors may begin setting up in the softball field area starting at 8:00 a.m.

Enjoy a day full of food, fun, and entertainment for the whole family!

Interested in being a vendor or participating in the parade? Please contact Lynnita Bartee at 228-424-5975.

Daytime parade entries may include antiques, businesses, golf carts, side-by-sides, horses, and 4-wheelers.

REMINDER FOR TOMORROW!!!.

Waste Pro’s last pickup date will be Wednesday, January 28, 2026 and they will pick up their cans on the same day. Please have all Waste Pro cans by the road (full and empty) so that they can be picked up. Please do not use Meridian Waste cans (blue cans) til next week.

Meridian Waste 1st pickup date will be Wednesday February 4, 2026. They will continue to pick up once per week (on Wednesday) and the garbage fee will not change.

Meridian Waste is out in Stonewall today delivering their garbage cans. They should be out again tomorrow if all are not delivered today. Meridian Waste will start picking garbage up February 4th, 2026.

Waste Pro’s last pickup date will be Wednesday, January 28, 2026 and they will pick up their cans on the same day. Please have all Waste Pro cans by the road (full and empty) so that they can be picked up.

Meridian Waste will deliver their cans starting Monday January 19th, 2026 and will continue until Wednesday 21, 2026. Meridian Waste will start picking garbage up February 4th, 2026.

The Town of Stonewall will be changing Garbage Collection Companies effective February 1, 2026:
Please note the following time line:
Meridian Waste will deliver their cans on Wednesday January 21, 2026 and their 1st pickup date will be Wednesday February 4, 2026. They will continue to pick up once per week (on Wednesday) and the garbage fee will not change.

WATER AND SEWER OPERATOR

The Town of Stonewall is accepting applications for a full-time Water and Sewer Operator. The Water and Sewer Operator’s responsibilities include but are not limited to maintaining all
water and sewer operations as required by the State of Mississippi Health Department and the Town of Stonewall and work with other Town departments when necessary. Interested applicants must at a minimum have a high school diploma or equivalent, have a valid
state driver’s license, understand the laws and attend certification testing as required by the State of Mississippi Health Department, and be able to manage departmental duties as required by the Town of Stonewall.

Applications may be picked up at the Stonewall Town Hall Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. The Town of Stonewall has the right to reject any or all applications.
