🚧 REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS (RFP) – POCKET PARK RESTROOM PROJECT 🚧

The Town of Stoneville is seeking proposals from qualified general contractors for the construction of new public restroom facilities at the downtown Pocket Park.

The project includes the construction of fully ADA-compliant men's and women's restrooms featuring:
✅ Plumbing, electrical, and structural construction
✅ ADA-accessible entrances, fixtures, and accommodations
✅ Family-friendly features, including a diaper-changing station
✅ Coordination of inspections and code compliance
✅ Installation of a new shed-style metal roof and interior finishes

Contractors must provide documentation of experience, certifications, insurance coverage, references, project timelines, and a detailed cost proposal.

📅 PROPOSAL DEADLINE: July 10, 2026

The Town of Stoneville is seeking input on the draft Comprehensive Transportation Plan (CTP), provided by NCDOT and Rockingham County.

Whether you drive, walk, bike, use public transportation, or simply travel through town, your feedback is important. This plan will help identify current transportation needs and guide future improvements to roads, sidewalks, bicycle facilities, safety enhancements, and overall mobility throughout our community.

⚠️ A Code Orange Air Quality Alert has been issued for Rockingham County and surrounding areas on Friday, June 5.

With temperatures in the 90s under sunny skies and little wind, higher levels of ground-level ozone are forecast to develop, which can be dangerous for some people.

Those most likely to be affected include:
• Children and teens
• Older adults
• People with heart or lung conditions
• Anyone spending a lot of time working or exercising outdoors

If you are in one of these groups, consider limiting strenuous outdoor activities and taking extra breaks throughout the day.

You can also help improve air quality by:
• Driving less when possible
• Avoiding unnecessary idling
• Waiting to use gas-powered lawn equipment until air quality improves

Residents are also encouraged to postpone any open burning until the alert has ended, as smoke can contribute to poor air quality.
