We have had officers responding throughout the night and this morning to multiple vehicle crashes. Conditions have become very icy, very fast, especially with the current temperatures. Being on the road not only endangers yourself but others who may be out traveling. First responders are also endangered because we will respond to every call. Please stay home and enjoy your Sunday if you can. Road conditions will continue to worsen, making even 4-wheel drive vehicles difficult to operate. If you must travel due to work-related tasks or emergencies, please drive safely. The Stoneville Police Department will continue to provide updates as the weather and roadways improve.

On behalf of Chief Rebecca Dixon, myself—Captain Christopher Eanes—and the entire Stoneville Police Department, we are proud to officially welcome our newest officer, Gary Burnette, to the team. It is both an honor and a privilege to have you join the Stoneville PD and become part of the greater Stoneville community.

Congratulations, Officer Burnette, on your perseverance and dedication throughout the hiring process. Your motivation, experience, and commitment to public service are clear assets to our department and the citizens we serve. Officer Burnette previously served as a patrol officer with the Mebane Police Department and brings with him prior experience, a strong passion for law enforcement and community protection. When Officer Burnette is not in his police uniform serving the Town of Stoneville he is working for the Faucette firedepartment. Officer Burnette currently holds the rank of Captain within the Faucette Firedepartment.

Officer Burnette is assigned to patrol. If you see him out and about, be sure to stop and say hello!
