Senior Center Friends of Stoneham

Our mission is to fund services and activities that enhance the dignity of seniors, support their independence and encourage their social interaction.

The Senior Center Friends of Stoneham, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)3 corporation. We provide funds that support a range of educational, social, recreational, health maintenance, economic, legal and financial programs for the senior population. To this end, we organize and execute various fund raising campaigns including our summer-long Bargain Barn, our fall Annual Appeal and our spring Antique Car Show, among others.

“IT TAKES A VILLAGE”. Every Thursday, from 10am to 2pm, the “Barn” at the Stoneham Senior Center sells an ever-changing variety of donated housewares, collectibles, home decor, videos, music cd’s, tools, jewelry, dishes, etc. This collaboration of amazing volunteers generates funds for activities and programs at the Center. Hurry up, as there are only 3 more sales: September 10th, 17th, 24th, and the season ends til next Spring. Address 136 Elm St. Stoneham. Please support their efforts.

This is a picture of the Barn’s prep room- no peeking please! Every week our volunteers excitedly unwrap donations to provide you with an ever-changing display of everything but the kitchen sink! The “Barn” Sale at the Stoneham Senior Center has household items, jewelry, tools, small appliances, home decor, books, videos, and so much more. Don’t miss a week! For the “Love of Reading”-donate your previously read books to the Barn at the Stoneham Senior Center. Drop-off at the Center Monday thru Friday 9am to 4pm, or bring donation to the Barn on Thursdays from 10am to 2pm. There is also a special Barn sale on Saturday August 29 from 11am to 2pm. The Barn book area is a favorite of Barn enthusiasts. We need your help to replenish our stock of adult or children’s books. Book-lovers know they learn continuously, improve focus, and have a healthy escape from daily pressure. Address 136 Elm St. Stoneham.

Special notice for our Barn enthusiasts! The Barn Sale normally happens every Thursday at the Stoneham Senior Center. The Barn will be open for ONLY ONE SATURDAY- August 29 from 11 am to 2pm. This is your chance to experience the “hunt” on a Saturday. Dig through previously-loved jewelry, books, tools, music cd’s, videos, dishes, glassware, baking dishes, kitchen utensils, small appliances, handbags, baskets, collectibles, fabric, yarn, small furniture, and find that special treasure. You can also tour the Stoneham Senior Center Open House (11am to 4pm), and enjoy live music at 1 pm. Address 136 Elm St. Stoneham.

We all love the bargains every Thursday at the “The Barn”, located at the Stoneham Senior Center, 136 Elm St. But now we have Clearance Tables for even greater savings! And for those whose passion is to rescue the dirty, broken, and forgotten from landfill, our shopping cart presents free items that need your TLC. (Only requirement is to place these items into your vehicle before entering the Barn). Come have some fun every Thursday 10 am to 2pm.

Do you like to tinker- fix, replace & update things. The “Barn” sale at the Stoneham Senior center has everything you need, and didn’t know you needed! We have tools: a shovel, pitchfork, ax, drill, wrench, and more. Don’t forget electrical and electronic items (cords, extension cords, remotes, keyboards, phones, shampooer). Rummage through plumbing supplies, nails, screws, hinges, brushes, and even a tool belt to hold your treasures. Come to the “Barn” sale every Thursday from 10am to 2pm at the Stoneham Senior Center. Wow, the Red Sox have won 13 straight games since Sunday! Don’t miss out on the excitement, and the chance to cheer them on! The Stoneham Senior Center is raffling 2 DIGITAL tickets (Loge Box 107, Row MM- Seats 1 & 2) for the Red Sox vs. Athletics game on Sunday August 9 at 1:35pm. You must have an email address. Come to the Center at 136 Elm St. (781-438-1157) during regular business hours Monday -Friday 9am to 4pm to purchase your raffle tickets @ $15 per raffle ticket, or $25 for 2.
