Notice to Historic District Property Owners and Residents

On June 15th and 16th, survey teams will be conducting a Historic Resources Survey throughout the City's Historic District.

As part of this effort, every property within the Historic District will be documented by taking at least two exterior photographs and recording information about the property's current condition. This survey helps the City update and maintain accurate historical records and better preserve the character and heritage of our community.

Survey staff will be photographing properties from public rights-of-way and will not need access to the interior of homes or buildings.

Thank you for your cooperation as we work to preserve and document the history of our Historic District.

Stone Mountain City Council members recently visited Stone Mountain Elementary School to support the students’ Recycled Art Competition!

What began as a Career Day discussion about recycling grew into an exciting school-wide project, with 14 creative art pieces made from recycled materials found at home and around the school.

We appreciate the Mayor, City Council members, Officer Voit, and Bill and Anne Martians for serving as judges and helping celebrate the students’ hard work, creativity, and commitment to environmental stewardship.

Congratulations to all the talented students who turned everyday recyclables into amazing works of art!
