Pacific Gives begins Today at Noon

A friendly reminder that Pacific Gives begins today at noon and runs for 24 hours. Thank you to all of you who have already donated to the STRIPES Program during early giving. We already have 850 dollars donated!


Remember, the amount you give is not important; lots of small donations can really add up. Forgo a Starbucks Coffee for one day and give that $6 to STRIPES instead. There is also $1,000 of matching money to be earned from retired Lt. Germann, so let's make sure to get all of his money! Invite your friends and family to support STRIPES, too.

📣 Support the STRIPES Student Cadet Program – Pacific Gives (April 21–22)
Every year, University of the Pacific hosts a 24 hour giving campaign called Pacific Gives on April 21–22, supporting programs that directly impact our students.
This year, I’m proud to share that our STRIPES Student Cadet Program has been added as a benefactor—and I’m serving as an Ambassador to help raise support for this outstanding group of students.
The STRIPES Cadet Program has been part of our campus community for many years. Our cadets:
• Patrol campus and check facilities
• Secure buildings
• Provide safety es**rts for students after dark
This program has also become a pipeline for law enforcement positions, as two of our alumni STRIPES are now police officers for our department.
Over the past year, we expanded the program significantly, providing cadets with training in:
• First Aid
• CPR & AED
• Active Shooter Response
• Crisis Intervention
These students are truly stepping up. Since the expanded training began:
• One cadet administered first aid to a student with a severe injury
• Another cadet reported suspicious activity that led to arrests for on campus theft
I’m asking for your support to continue expanding this program and developing these students into leaders on campus and beyond.

Security Tips from the Chief

Dear Pacificans,

As the school year begins, I encourage everyone to be vigilant about securing their personal property and belongings. This is a time when we see a significant increase in the number of bicycles, scooters, and skateboards being stolen as students are unaware of the risks of leaving items unsecured, making them easy targets for opportunistic thieves. To help protect your property, here are a few important tips:

• If your property is out of your sight it needs to be securely locked.
• Even if your property is parked inside the DUC or another building it is not safe from theft. Lock it to the rack outside or use the skateboard rack to lock your boards.

• Use a U-lock to secure bikes and scooters. Cables and chains can easily be cut.

• Lock the frame and wheel of your bike to the rack with a U-lock and use a cable to secure the other wheel and other parts that are easily removed.

• Place an AirTag or similar tracking device on your property so it can be tracked.

• Register your bike or scooter with Public Safety so it can be returned to you if located.

• If you see something say something. It only takes a few seconds to unlock a bike or scooter. If someone is lingering around a bike rack for an extended period of time, they could be trying to steal something. Report suspicious activity to Public Safety immediately at 209.946.2537. A scooter was stolen from the McCaffrey Center. Despite students being in the area, no one reported the suspect who was caught on camera cutting the cable.

• When entering a secure building, do not hold the door open for others unless you are certain they belong there. This helps prevent unauthorized access and protects everyone’s safety.
By taking these precautions, we can reduce theft and ensure a safer, more secure environment for everyone.
