Stockton Fire’s Brush Rig 10 has deployed to the Plaskett Fire, joining firefighters from across the state working to protect communities and strengthen containment lines in the rugged terrain near Big Sur.

As of September 8, the fire has burned 29,862 acres and is 47% contained, with more than 2,100 personnel assigned.

We are proud of our members supporting this large-scale response and wish everyone working the fire a safe assignment and return home.

Stockton Fire is proud to recognize the promotions of four of our members to the rank of Engineer:

• Ryan Rose
• Kizer Vandeveer
• Justin Martinez
• Nikolas Johnston

Engineers serve as the drivers of our fire apparatus and play a critical role in every emergency response. They are responsible for safely transporting crews and equipment, positioning apparatus at complex incidents, and operating the pumps that provide firefighters with the water needed for fire suppression. The position requires technical expertise, sound judgment, and a constant awareness of the safety of both their crew and the community.

We are incredibly proud of these four individuals, who bring more than 17 years of combined experience to their new roles. Please join us in congratulating Engineers Rose, Vandeveer, Martinez, and Johnston on this well-earned achievement!

Quick access. Decisive action. Teamwork on scene.

Stockton Fire crews recently responded to an outbuilding fire where quick work kept the fire from spreading beyond the structure involved.

This video offers a closer look at one piece of that response as a firefighter from the first-due truck company uses a power saw to quickly force entry, giving crews the access they need to continue suppression and overhaul operations.

Every second matters when there is potential for a fire to grow.

Great work by all crews on scene protecting our Stockton community 💪

Please join us in congratulating Phillip Loechler on his promotion to Battalion Chief!

Chief Loechler has served the City of Stockton for more than 24 years, bringing valuable experience, leadership and a strong commitment to this community into his new role.

Battalion Chiefs play a critical role in our department, overseeing emergency operations, coordinating resources at complex incidents and supporting the crews serving across our city each day. Their leadership helps ensure our members remain prepared and ready to respond when our community needs them most.

Congratulations, Chief Loechler, on this well earned promotion and the next chapter of your service to Stockton!

A great moment captured during a recent OES deployment.

Stockton Fireline EMT John Green crossed paths with Pasadena Fire while deployed on the MP-18 Fire in Humboldt County, where he was supporting crews working on the fire line.

Proud to see our members representing Stockton Fire and supporting fellow first responders wherever they’re needed. 🔥🚒

Please join us in congratulating Shawn Allan on his promotion to CAD Coordinator!

Shawn joined the Stockton Fire Department’s Emergency Communications Division in 2020. Since then, he has served as a Fire Telecommunicator and Quality Assurance Specialist while also supporting our radio program and helping train new employees for their roles in the dispatch world.

As CAD Coordinator, Shawn will help ensure the technology behind every call works reliably, allowing dispatchers to quickly send the right resources where they are needed. He will also continue to help guide training, quality assurance and the implementation of our next dispatch system.

Shawn’s work will support more than just Stockton Fire. Our Emergency Communications Division dispatches for multiple fire agencies across San Joaquin County, serving more than 700,000 residents. From the moment a call comes in to the moment crews are sent, his role helps keep the center and the responses moving.

Congratulations, Shawn, on this well earned promotion!
