**Upcoming Workshops!**

-Suzuki Violin
Ages 3 and up
Students will learn the Suzuki method, developed by Dr. Shinich Suzuki. In this ongoing string instrument workshop, which requires parent participation/involvement, students can develop their musical abilities, concentration, motor skills, memory powers, and self-confidence.
This class is held on Friday's, from May 15 - July 2 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

-African Drumming
Come and feel the beat! This workshop involves students in Basic African drumming. The Djembe drums will be used to experience percussive rhythms, musical patterns, and simple drum language, as well as basic technique.
This class is held on Wednesday's, from April 8 through April 29 from 5-6 pm.

-Colors on Canvas - Section 2
In this beginning class, students will learn the step-by-step process of painting with acrylics. They will be exposed to the elements of painting, will gain a greater understanding of art, and will learn how to apply colors on canvas.
This class is held on Thursday's, from April 9 through April 30 from 4-5:30 pm.

-How to Decorate Cupcakes for Spring
In this hands-on workshop, students will learn how to make delicious cupcakes and decorate them for spring. From beautiful flowers for Mother's Day cupcakes to the fashionable High-Heel cupcakes, kids will have fun while learning cake decorating, and they'll have at least one sample to take home!
This class is held on Saturday, April 11 from 1:30-4:30 pm.

-Create Your Own Solar System
Where do the stars go during the day? Why do the stars and planets stay in orbit? Students will learn the answers to these questions, explore the effects of forces in space, and learn more about their universe. In this fun, hands-on workshop, they will build their own planetarium!
This class is held on Saturday, April 11 from 9:30am-12:30 pm.

-Incorporating the Computer Into Schoolwork
School projects are the perfect time to use Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher. Researching, organizing, formatting, and presenting happen all year long, so get a jump on your schoolwork by learning how to use each program to make your life easier. A Word research paper can become a PowerPoint presentation with Excel charts. A PowerPoint presentation can supply notes to the speaker and handouts to the audience, all created by a Word outline. Create a Publisher Newsletter that will WOW any athletic or academic team.
This class is held on Saturday, April 25 & May 2 from 1-4 pm.

Upcoming Classes!

**January**
-Lodi Community Band (High School)
This workshop is dedicated to the rehersal and performance of
band literature with emphasis on sight-reading and public
performance. The classes are held on Monday's running from
Jan. 5- May 25, from 6:30-9:30 p.m.
-Suzuki Strings - Section 1 (ages 3 & up)
In this ongoing string instrument workshop, which requires parent
participation/involvement, students can develop their musical
abilities, concentration, motor skills, memory powers, and self-
confidence. The classes are held on Friday's running from Jan. 9-
March 6, from 4-6 p.m.
-Stockton Concert Band (High School)
This workshop is dedicated to the rehearsal and performance of
concert literature with emphasis on sight-reading and public
performance. Students will have an opportunity to be a part of a
large concert band and play a variety of music from classical to
pop. The classes are held on Tuesday's running from Jan. 20 -
May 26, from 6:30-9:30 p.m.

Upcoming Classes!
-Colors on Canvas- Section 2
This class is for ages 8-12 on Tuesday’s, meeting from 10/14-
11/4 from 4-5:30 PM. The class fee is $49.
-Suzuki Strings
This class is for ages 3 and up on Friday’s, meeting from 10/17-
12/12 from 4-6PM. The class fee is $40.
-Learn to Make Paper Bear Necklaces
This class is for ages 8 and up on Saturday 10/18 from 10 AM-
1 PM. The class fee is $25.
-Water Wizards
This class is for ages 8-12 on Saturday 10/18 from 9AM –
12NOON. The class fee is $29.
-Beginning Piano – Section 2
This class is for ages 8 and up on Monday’s and Wednesdays
meeting from 10/22-11/24 from 4:15 -5:45 PM. The class fee is
$115.
-Cool Science Experiments: Magical Solutions
This class is for ages 6-12. There is one class being offered on
Friday 10/24 at 3:30-5:30 PM and another class being offered on
Saturday 10/25 at 9:30-11:30 AM. The class fee for either of these
sections is $29.

The July 2015 "Be A Star Theatre" play will be "The Brothers Grimm.......Out of Order" written by Flip Kobler and Cindy Marcus and published by the Pioneer Drama Service, Inc.

"Be A Star Theatre" is part of Kids College. This children's theater workshop has been in existence at San Joaquin Delta College for 17 years. It's most recent production of Beauty and the Beast was presented at the Tillie Lewis Theater of S.J.Delta College.
