This one’s for our campers!! ⛺️

Tonight is a great night to stay weather aware. Make sure you have a weather radio or some other way of getting notified if cell service is spotty. Stow away any loose items outside of campers and roll those awnings in!

A line of strong to severe storms will move through the area late this evening through tonight. Here is a map of estimated storm time of arrival.

🦃Youth Turkey Hunt Recap🦃

We had a great turnout for this year’s youth turkey hunt, with a total of 52 applicants. From that group, six young hunters were selected – one hunter assigned to each campground.

The weekend brought some success in the field:

▪️One jake was harvested Saturday morning at Mutton Creek Group Camp

▪️One tom was harvested Sunday morning at Orleans Trail South

Overall, it sounded like everyone had a fantastic experience. Hunters reported seeing birds and having opportunities, but as turkey hunting often goes, not every chance turned into a harvest.

We appreciate everyone who applied and participated, and we hope the hunt provided a memorable experience for all involved.

Applications Available -- Stockton Lake Youth Turkey Hunt

Youth hunters who are ages 6-15 may apply to hunt turkey in one of six Corps of Engineer campgrounds at Stockton Lake during the youth portion of the Missouri turkey season, April 11th & 12th, 2026. If selected, you would have the chance to hunt in an area that has little to no hunting pressure - the perfect scenario for taking young hunters. If you or someone you may know is looking for a place to take a kid hunting, take advantage of this opportunity.
Applications are available at the Stockton Lake Project Office and must be returned by March 28th.
6 Hunters will be selected.
Locations to hunt are Crabtree Cove, Cedar Ridge, Hawker Point, Masters, Orleans Trail South, Ruark Bluff & Mutton Creek Group Camp. Locations will be determined through a draw.

For questions contact Park Ranger Buck Walker by phone at (816) 389-3793 or email [email protected].

The fish habitat work in coordination with Missouri Dept. of Conservation is complete at the Stockton Boat Ramp. The ramp is open for use - a tad windy today and tomorrow but Sunday looks like a beautiful day to launch the boat and try to catch a few fish!

We are implementing a new QR code system at our day use areas this year so hop on over to the ramp, scan the QR code for payment and let us know how it works for you! The option to save the link is available to you should you want to save and pay ahead of time or without scanning on your next visit.

Have a great and safe weekend!
