Cast a line with during the annual Catfish Derby on Saturday, June 6 at Shumway Oak Grove Regional Park.

Anglers can fish 2,000 pounds of catfish for prizes. Gates open at 6:15 a.m. and the final weigh-in begins at 12:30 p.m. Kids fish free, while anglers age 16 and older are $5 cash with a valid California fishing license. Parking is $6 cash.

Golden Mussels are an invasive species that pose a serious threat to our waterways, fish populations, boats, and critical water infrastructure. The County of San Joaquin is collecting damage reports from community members and businesses to advocate for individual and public assistance for replacement, repair and/or removal costs related to Golden Mussel impacts.

Join during Zoo Summer Camp at Micke Grove Zoo beginning Monday, June 1 through Friday, July 24.

Children ages 7–11 can enjoy hands-on activities focused on wildlife, creativity and outdoor exploration. Camps run Monday through Friday.

Cost is $100 per participant, with an additional $90 fee for each sibling. Registration opens April 27. Call (209) 953-8800 to register.

Election Day is here. San Joaquin Votes is here to help make your voice heard in the June 2026 Primary Election.

· Check your voter registration status
· Review your County Voter Information Guide
· Make a plan to vote, by mail, at a Vote Center, or a ballot drop box

Polling places and ballot drop boxes across San Joaquin County are open today from 7 AM to 8 PM. ALL ballot drop boxes will be available 7 AM to 8 PM.

Voters can also cast ballots in person at the Registrar of Voters Office at 44 N. San Joaquin Street, Suite 350 in Stockton.

Voters returning ballots by mail must ensure their ballot is postmarked on or before Election Day and received no later than 7 days following the Election.

Good news — we've extended our community survey deadline to June 7! We are creating the San Joaquin County Parks and Recreation Master Plan to guide the next 10 years of enhancing, maintaining and expanding County parks, open spaces, recreational opportunities and the zoo.
