Tomorrow we have a winter storm moving in, as always stay safe and stay off the roads if you don't have to get out. If you do need to get out check road conditions and have a plan in case you get stuck. Keep blankets, water bottles and charge your cell phone. Check on the elderly if possible. If you need supplies of any kind go before the the storm gets here. If you need emergency services of any kind call 911, do not call the office phones as most office personnel will not be in due to the inclement weather.

This is a message
from the Adair County Alert System.
Due to worsening weather conditions, roads across Adair County are becoming increasingly slick with snow and ice. For your safety, we urge all residents to stay home unless travel is absolutely necessary. This protects you, your family, and our emergency responders. If you must travel, please exercise extreme caution.
Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our community safe.

Please don't get out if you don't have to once the weather starts coming in. Check road conditions, charge your cell phone, dress warm and have an emergency kit in your vehicle. Be safe and stay warm, hypothermia will set in quick with the temperatures we have been having. Many people think it's safer for emergency vehicles to be on the roads but in fact it's just as dangerous for us as it is you.

If you are planning on going out tonight to celebrate the new year, please be safe. If you are going to drink, please have a sober driver and if you are hosting a get together please take care of your guests and don't allow them to leave and drive intoxicated. We are always ready for a call but we would rather not have to work a bad wreck because someone chose to drink and drive. Be safe and take care of each other. Happy New Year!

Your EMS Crews going over scenarios with ICTC Stilwell Campus EMT students. It's not just the students learning when we do these skills and scenario classes. The crews are brushing up on their patient care and treatments. In EMS the philosophy is see one, do one, then teach one. When the three steps are done, the skill and/or treatment are set in stone in the providers mind. Your crew tonight is EMT C. Dixon, EMT S. Marshall, and Paramedic M. McCombs in Stilwell and EMT E. Wise and AEMT K. Henson in Westville.

Your Adair County EMS EMTs Emma Drain and Kolby Vaughan spent time this week off duty speaking to kids about public safety. They taught them about what EMTs do and when to call 911. These are the amazing providers that answer your calls for medical help. They have a true servant's heart and we are proud to have them as part of our team.
