A great fact about property taxes is that your money stays local and supports local
community services that benefit you directly. Without property taxes, your local
government might need to depend on the state capitol to meet its needs. This
means giving up local control of our local services, which could lead to less
efficiency and more bureaucracy, less direct local oversight and more opportunities
for waste, fraud and abuse.

Going along with yesterday's post. These are our field appraisers, and this is our car. If someone is claiming to be with the Payne County Assessor's Office and they are not one of these people or in this car, they are not with us. We have started our annual visual inspection cycle for the 2027 tax year. This is a map of the required areas for this cycle. We will be in our 2015 White Ford Escapes with Payne County Assessor logo on the front doors. Please call our office if you have questions or concerns 405-747-8300

Hey everyone,
just a quick reminder for our local veterans and surviving spouses. If you served during a declared national emergency, you may qualify for $200 off assessed value of your personal property.
All you need is the short application and a copy of your DD‑214.
📅 Deadline: March 15
If you’re not sure whether you qualify or need help filling it out, just reach out to our office. We are happy to help take care of our veterans however we can.
