VILLAGE OF STILLMAN VALLEY
MUNICIPAL ELECTION – APRIL 1, 2025
TUESDAY, AUGUST 24, 2024 - First day petitions may be circulated by independent candidates and newly formed political parties. Petitions will be available at Village Hall, 120 N Walnut Street, Stillman Valley, IL 61084 during regular business hours.
TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 12, 2024 - PETITION FILING BEGINS AT 7:00 AM IN THE VILLAGE CLERK’S OFFICE, 120 N Walnut Street, Stillman Valley, IL 61084. If there should be more than one person in line at 7:00 am, a lottery will be held following the close of filing to determine candidate placement on the ballot. PETITION FILING CLOSES AT 5:00 PM ON MONDAY, NOVEMBER 18, 2024. If there should be more than one person to file between the hours of 4:00 pm and 5:00 pm on that date, a lottery will be held to determine the final place on the ballot.
Positions to be elected:
VILLAGE PRESIDENT (1) – 4-YEAR TERM
VILLAGE TRUSTEE (3) – 4-YEAR TERMS
VILLAGE TRUSTEE (1) – 2-YEAR TERM
Signature Requirements:
Total ballots cast in the last Municipal Election (2023) were 157.
MINIMUM (5%) = 8
MAXIMUM (8%) = 58
Questions regarding the Municipal Election should be directed to the State Board of Elections. Municipal Elections are administered by the County Clerks. A Candidate’s Guide may be obtained by calling the State Board of Elections at 312-814-6440 or on line at www.elections.state.il.us.
The Village Clerk’s office merely ACCEPTS candidacy documents. It is the responsibility of the CANDIDATE or the representative of the candidate to ensure that all documents presented are in good order and compliant with all appropriate election law. Neither the Clerk’s office nor the Village o Stillman Valley is responsible for the accuracy or legal sufficiency of the filed documents. Please remember that a 2024 Statement of Economic Interest must be filed with the OGLE County Clerk by close of business on November 18, 2024.
