With the Election year in full swing I will be posting as much as I can about candidates for different seats, and also providing as much unbiased information I can and also explicitly stating a bias when I have one. One of the major issues on the radar of alooooot of Folks is FISA Section 702.
Dumbed down, 702 is about National Security and Surveillance. Think CCTV cams, Traffic monitoring cams, etc.
Where do I stand? Well, I am a supporter of 702. Mostly because I feel that it assists law enforcement with solving crimes, catching criminals, and even kidnappings. I don’t mind being under surveillance if the ultimate good could save a child’s life or stop a serial chiller.
I know a lot of people oppose this and see it as government over reach, so if you need help knowing who you can trust with your vote whether it’s Yea or Nea, here is a breakdown:
US Senate - Oklahoma
1. Republican candidate Kevin Hern has strongly opposed
FISA and has spoken against it publicly.
2. Independent candidate Ron Meinhardt has publicly
opposed FISA as well.
3. Republican candidates Gary England and Nick Hankins
BOTH support FISA.
4. Democratic candidates Jim Priest,Troy Green, N'Kiyla
Jasmine Thomas, and Ervin Yen all seem to dance faster
around taking a stance on FISA than kernels of corn
swimming in oil on a hot skillet. Not a single one of them
has explicitly said or shown support one way or another.
