Welcome to week two of summer reading! This week we have some fun in-person programs for all ages to enjoy.
On Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. we will have Family Story Time at the Library.
On Wednesday, we’ll be popping up at Music in the Park at Bear Cave Park starting at 6:30 p.m.
On Thursday, we’ll be hosting another Read with Kealy the Dog session! Stop by between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to sign up for a 10-minute slot to practice reading aloud with Kealy. Bring your own book or pick from one of ours. Reading spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis. At 6:00 p.m. on Thursday our Book Club will be discussing The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid!
The Library will be closed on Friday, June 19 in observance of Juneteenth. The Library will reopen on Saturday, June 20.
On Saturday, join us at Darlin’ Bakery and Cafe for Silent Book Club from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Bring your own book, grab a snack or a drink, socialize with your fellow readers, and enjoy an hour of designated reading time. What a great way to kick off the weekend!
Since we’ll be closed this Friday, We’ll be drawing TWO names for our weekly Barnes & Noble gift card drawing next week. Make sure to get your completed reading records back to the Library for a chance to win!

The Minnesota Department of Agriculture plans to conduct aerial spongy moth management in parts of southeastern Minnesota, including areas of Rochester and Stewartville, June 24, 2026 – July 1, 2026, weather permitting.

Using a non-toxic, food-grade pheromone product, low-flying aircraft will help disrupt spongy moth mating to slow the spread of this invasive pest and protect Minnesota's trees and forests.

Residents can check if they are located within a management area, sign up for text or email updates, and access the management tracking map through the MDA website. Questions? Call the MDA info line at 888-545-6684.

2026 Crack Filling will take place Tuesday, June 9, through Wednesday, June 10, the areas highlighted in orange.

To help ensure the work is completed safely and efficiently, all vehicles must be removed from the streets in the project areas throughout the duration of the project. Please do not park on the street in the affected areas until the work has been completed and the streets have been reopened.

Heads up! The Minnesota Department of Agriculture will be using low flying yellow airplanes for aerial management of spongy moth, a destructive invasive forest pest. These operations will take place in the City of Stewartville. Operations are scheduled to take place sometime between June 23-26 but are dependent on weather, operations could last through July 1.
