🌲🔥 H.O.P.E. 4th Annual Firewood Benefit Day was a HUGE success! 🔥🌲

From kicking things off Thursday with equipment arriving, individuals showing up hyped and ready, to gathering together in the evening, relaxing, sharing great conversation, and preparing for the big day, it was the perfect start to an incredible weekend!

A very special H.O.P.E. THANK YOU to everyone who helped make this event possible! ❤️

To our incredible volunteers Craig, Ed, and Mike, who worked day after day on the hill preparing, organizing, and getting everything ready, you are truly appreciated!

To Jack and all of the Wood Hounds who came together from near and far, traveling, spreading the word, bringing equipment, and putting in the WORK, thank you! Men and women working side-by-side, all for a greater purpose. 🪵💪

And to everyone who donated food, drinks, snacks, and supplies to keep our crew well-fed, hydrated, and fueled up, we are incredibly grateful. Your generosity kept everyone going! ❤️

The anticipation was in FULL FORCE! The power, teamwork, energy, and excitement were contagious, and the work was truly heartfelt.

Whether you brought equipment, volunteered your time, helped with meals and hydration, moved wood, or simply showed up to lend a hand…

YOU were part of making this happen.

Watching this event grow throughout the years has been simply incredible. What started as an idea has grown into something so much bigger, a community coming together, working hard, and making a difference for families who need a little extra H.O.P.E.

From all of us at H.O.P.E., we are grateful, thankful, and simply blessed. ❤️

THANK YOU for helping us keep the firewood, and the H.O.P.E. burning! 🔥🪵💙

🎗️SEPTEMBER IS CHILDHOOD CANCER AWARENESS MONTH

Each September, we pause to honor every child and every family affected by pediatric cancer.

Cancer does not discriminate by age. Children can face many different types of cancer, including leukemia, brain and central nervous system tumors, lymphoma, and sarcomas.

Childhood cancer remains a leading cause of death by disease among children. Warning signs can include unexplained weight loss, persistent fatigue, frequent headaches, unusual lumps or swelling, unexplained bruising, or ongoing pain.

Trust your instincts and talk with a healthcare provider when something doesn't seem right.

💛 Every child deserves the chance to grow, dream, and thrive. 💛

When a family hears the unimaginable words, “Your child has cancer,” life can suddenly feel overwhelming and uncertain. But families do not have to walk that road alone. Resources are available to help families find pediatric specialists and treatment centers, financial assistance, survivorship resources, supportive care, and services for the whole family.

Just yesterday, here at H.O.P.E., we connected with a family whose 7-year-old child was recently diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). 💛

A powerful reminder that cancer affects all ages, even our children.

At H.O.P.E., we believe no family should have to face cancer alone. Whether the diagnosis is childhood cancer, breast cancer, leukemia, sarcoma, or any other type of cancer...

No matter the cancer.
No matter the age.
H.O.P.E. is here to help. 💛

If you or someone you love is facing a cancer diagnosis, please reach out! Let us know how we can help!
Please email us at:

Or contact the H.O.P.E. office (and yes our phones are working again!!) 717-244-2174

🎗️ This September, help us raise awareness. Help us spread H.O.P.E.

Angel Corner: Shining a Light of H.O.P.E.

Sometimes, a partnership begins with a simple visit, and grows into something truly extraordinary. That is exactly what has happened with the York County Prison Employee Appreciation Committee.

On January 22nd, we were honored to welcome members of the York County Prison Employee Appreciation Committee to the H.O.P.E. Haven. Just months earlier, in October, H.O.P.E. had the opportunity to participate in their Scare Breast Event at John Rudy Park, where they generously presented H.O.P.E. with a donation from the funds raised that day. During their January visit, they toured the Haven, learned more about H.O.P.E.’s mission and services, and saw firsthand how community support can make a meaningful difference for cancer patients and their families.

As they walked through the Haven and learned about Barb’s vision, something truly remarkable happened, where even prison guards shed a tear. They saw H.O.P.E.’s vision board and discovered the dream of Paige’s Playhouse, a place where children visiting the Haven could play, laugh, and simply be kids. They chose that vision as their own and made it their goal to help make it a reality.

Seven months later, they have truly SHINED!

Through their partnership, determination, and generosity, the York County Prison employees, together with Dover Tactical, and Todd Moose (Quality Custom Structures) helped make Paige’s Playhouse a reality. They even organized a benefit raffle featuring amazing donated prizes to help offset the costs of bringing this dream to life.

And now, as of Friday, August 28th, we gathered for a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony officially opening the doors to Paige’s Playhouse at the H.O.P.E. Haven. What began with a visit, a conversation, and a vision board has become a beautiful place where children and families will create memories for years to come.

We are incredibly grateful for the connection, partnership, and support shown by all who lent a hand and heart in this project! Their commitment reminds us of the incredible things that can happen when people take the time to listen, believe in a vision, and say, “How can we help?”

From that first visit in January to the ribbon cutting in August, they have shown us what it truly means to shine for H.O.P.E.

Thank you, York County Prison employees, for helping us keep a promise to Paige, and for helping create a place filled with laughter, memories, and H.O.P.E. for generations to come.

🇺🇸❤️🤍💙 LABOR DAY WEEKEND CLOSURE 💙🤍❤️🇺🇸

As we head into the Labor Day weekend, we’re taking a little time to pause, breathe, and recharge before the busy fall season is upon us!

The H.O.P.E. office will be CLOSED Friday, September 4th through Monday, September 7th, giving our small but mighty H.O.P.E. team an extra day to rest, enjoy time with family and friends, and come back refreshed and ready for all our busy days ahead!

And there’s another special reason we’re extending our closure…

We’re giving the family staying at the H.O.P.E. Haven an added day to simply enjoy their stay without the hustle and bustle of an office day. A little extra time to relax, reconnect, make memories, and enjoy their own peaceful getaway from cancer.

If you need anything during our closure, please email us at [email protected] and we’ll get back to you when the office reopens, Tuesday, September 8th.
