Meet the City Administrator Candidates

The City of Stevenson invites community members to attend a Candidate Meet & Greet for the City Administrator position. The City Administrator plays an important role in supporting City operations, staff leadership, Council priorities, and the delivery of services to the Stevenson community.

Time: 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM
Location: Stevenson City Hall

Community members are encouraged to attend and meet the candidates being considered for the City Administrator position.

James Cleavenger has been the City of Oakridge, Oregon, City Administrator since 2022. Prior to becoming the City Administrator, he served Oakridge as a full-time police officer from 2017-2022 and continues to serve the city as a volunteer Reserve Police Officer. He was a Public Safety Officer for the University of Oregon from 2010-2013. He is also a licensed attorney in Oregon and Washington. Prior to his career as a police officer and lawyer, he served as the Special Assistant to the Cook County Assessor in Chicago, Illinois, from 2001 to 2004. Mr. Cleavenger has a Juris Doctorate degree, an LLM degree in International Human Rights Law from the University of Liverpool in England, and a bachelor’s degree in Political Science & International Studies.

Kezia Wanner has over 20 years of experience in operational roles in municipal and county government in Oregon, and has been Chief of Staff for a City of Portland City Councilor’s Office since 2024. Prior to that, she was Deputy Director – Chief Administrative Officer for the Portland Fire Bureau from 2021-2024. She has also served as Deputy City Manager for the City of Newberg, Chief Administrative Officer for the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office, Division Manager for the Portland Bureau of Transportation, Senior Financial Analyst & Grants Manager for the City of Portland, and she was a Management Analyst for the City of Woodburn. Ms. Wanner has a master’s degree in History & Policy and a bachelor's degree in History.

🧡The City of Stevenson Public Works will complete fire hydrant flow testing throughout the City's system on the week of April 27-May 1. The purpose of this test is two parts; the first reason is to ensure all hydrants with the fire system are functioning properly. The second is to gather information such as water pressure, flow capacity, general hydrant information and to identify any maintenance needs.

To be eligible to serve on City Council, the applicant must:
1. Be a registered voter of the City of Stevenson.
2. Have been a resident of the City of Stevenson for at least one year immediately preceding the election/appointment.
