Tuesday nights training centered on fill sites and Tanker operations. The crew from D.M.T.A went to visit our neighbors at Schoeneck Fire Company to train on water supply in our rural areas where fire hydrants are not available. It's always an enjoyable evening when we get to train with our mutual aid partners.

Earlier this month, the D.M.T.A team traveled to Clay Elementary School for National Fire Prevention Week. After lunch, our Firefighters along with the crew from Lincoln Fire Company Station 16 were escorted through the hallways. Children gave high fives and fist bumps to our firefighters. Also, we were presented with cards and signs made by the students. We were incredibly honored by the actions of both the students and the teachers. These cards and posters now adorn the various walls of our station. Thank you all for making our day with you extra special!

Today, just before noon, your D.M.T.A volunteers were dispatched to assist Lincoln Fire Company Station 16 for a working barn fire in Clay Township. Pumper Tanker 14 responded to the scene and assisted with water supply and fire suppression efforts. Engine 14 went to a nearby fire hydrant and established a fill site . Pictured below is the crew of Pumper Tanker 14.

Last evening the D.M.T.A crew was joined by our neighbors from Schoeneck Fire Company for a seminar on Natural Gas Emergencies provided by UGI. Numerous scenarios and options for mitigation were presented and discussed by those in attendance. While these types of incidents are not common throughout our first due, the potential is there to see these types of incidents while on mutual aid calls. These calls, for us, would fall under the low frequency high risk category. All in attendance walked away better prepared for future emergencies involving natural gas.

The last several weeks the D.M.T.A team have been drilling on hoseline advancement and search patterns. Last evening we took advantage of the beautiful weather to have a little fun outdoors. Crews stretched the line and made the hit on the fire (traffic cones in this case.) Even our Chief (Nolt) couldn't resist joining in. Thank you to all members for your commitment and dedication to our community and to each other!
